Link can drop off of the ledge after 4 frames of holding it (compared to the usual 8). He also has 4 fewer frames of ledge invincibility than everyone else. Was this a melee thing or is it a glitch?

Is this really a thing? I've always thought his ledge jump was very easily punished, or rather, that I had little invincibility compared with other characters I play. I thought it had something to do with link just being slow or having huge startup on his fair ( I think its 15 frames) Does he really have less invincibility than every other character?

Yup, you see for yourself in debug mode. He has less total invincibility, but the same amount of actionable invincibility, since he isn't stuck on the edge as long as everyone else. Pikachu had a very similar thing in brawl iirc. I can't imagine why the melee/brawl devs would make them like this, assuming they weren't glitches.
