• Customs OFF, Equipment Banned
• Stages
Starters
- Battlefield
- Final Destination*
- Lylat Cruise
- Town & City
- Smashville
Counterpicks
- Dreamland 64
- Duck Hunt
-Omega Stages**
Gentleman's Clause: Any stage may be played if both players agree to it (includes banned stages).
• * If Game 1 would start on Final Destination, players may instead request to go to Omega Palutena's Temple. THIS REQUEST CANNOT BE DENIED. If this happens beyond Game 1, the same thing applies, but the Counterpicking party gets to select the Omega stage.
• ** Instead of going to Final Destination, you can counterpick to any Omega Stage. If Final Destination is banned, so are Omegas.
• Process of Character/Stage Selection
- Game 1
1: Players pick their characters. Double Blind Pick may be requested for Game 1, in which one player can either tell a spectator or TO or write down the character they plan to use, then the other picks their character. After that player picks their character, have the first player reveal their character through either the spectator or their note.
2: Stage Striking: Used to determine which stage to start at. Of the 5 starter stages (listed below), players will strike in a 1-2-1 order, leaving the last stage as the selected stage. Rock Paper Scissors can be played to determine who strikes first. The winner of RPS determines who strikes first. After the striking process begins, both players are character locked.
- Beyond Game 1
1: The winning player bans 1 stage. Loser selects from the remaining stages (listed below). Bans remain in place for the entire set.
2: You may not bring your opponent to a stage you've banned. DSR ("Dave's Stupid Rule") is ON, which means you also may not bring your opponent to a stage you've already won on that set.
3: After a stage is selected, the winner(s) of the previous game gets to change their characters if they wish.
4: After the winner(s) pick their characters, the loser(s) gets to change their characters if they wish.
Additional Rules
• Venue Rules
• No Outside Food allowed at the venue, there is a Snack Bar that serves delicious food and drinks.
• Please bring setups (Wii U + Smash 4 + GameCube Adapter), they help with running the tournament efficiently and successfully.
• If you will be late, contact Unrivaled Tournaments (via Facebook or Twitter preferably) ahead of time so we can get you into the bracket properly. If you arrive late without being added ahead of time, you will either be added as a bottom seeded player or not at all, if all Late Entrant spaces are occupied already.
Controllers
• Allowed Controllers: GameCube Controller, 3DS, WiiMote, WiiMote + Attachement, Pro Controller*
• Pro Controllers are allowed on the circumstance that the battery is removed. If the battery is not removed, that player will be susceptible to warnings, disqualifications, or worse if a system is being interfered with. If you do not remove the battery, let the TOs know so we can immediately contact you if there's an issue.
• Gamepads are BANNED for tournament use. This is specifically because only one player can use them at a given time, so banning them prevents an issue of both players wanting to use Gamepad.
• Bring your own controller, as controllers are NOT PROVIDED.
Mii Rules
• Miis are LEGAL, and can use any combination of special moves. However, only Guest Miis are legal (which are default size/weight), and no equipment is permitted.
• If a Mii isn't named by its proper 4 number format to show what the character's moveset is, the opponent can request the special moves be either explained or shown ahead of time before the matches start.
• If a Mii is discovered to include something that is not legal (equipment, non-default size, etc), that player could be disqualified or penalized in some other way.
• Other Rules and the rest of these rules can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/UnrivaledRules
