GUTS 3: Major Tournament at Foxwoods, Pot Bonuses for Melee/PM

Game Underground, host of the weekly Smashing Grounds tournament in Framingham, MA, announced a third installment of the Game Underground Tournament Spectacular. This event will be hosted at the spectacular Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Ledyard, CT on September 19-21. GUTS 3 is pulling out all the stops, with singles and doubles events for Melee, Project M and Brawl. Melee and Project M are also receiving $500 dollar pot bonuses!


This will be a major event for both Smash Brothers and fighting games in general - Capcom has announced that GUTS 3 will be part of the Capcom Pro Tour Circuit. Several FGC fighters will be represented, including Ultra Street Fighter 4 and Ultra Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Even non-fighting games will be there - tournaments for Mario Kart 8, Pokemon X/Y, and Guitar Hero III are also scheduled for GUTS 3 weekend. Over 30 tournaments will be held over the course of the weekend - check out the entire schedule here.

Streaming

Several top streamers will be there to showcase the action. Smashboards partner CLASH Tournaments will be there to stream Smash Brothers, and FGC streamers NYCfurby, bifuteki and Kombat Network will all be onsite broadcasting events as well.


Foxwoods Resort and Casino, the venue for GUTS 3​

Special Events

GUTS 3 will be host to several special events outside of gaming tournaments. There will be a Friday night after-party along with a Saturday night, GUTS 3 players-only Texas Hold 'em Poker tournament! It is a casino, after all.

Between the abundance of Smash, the amazing Foxwoods Resort and Casino venue, and awesome side events, GUTS 3 is a tournament you won't want to miss. GUTS 3 has negotiated hotel discounts for players, so reserve your rooms early!

@ The Derrit The Derrit There's also a huge Project M Tournament happening at August 16th to 17th called Low Tier City 2 and is going to star players like Sethlon, Mew2King, ZeRo, Strong Bad, Oracle, Awestin, K9, Hylian, and more. It's probably going to be the most stacked PM tournament until Apex 2015.

I know you wrote a lot of articles so you don't have to write this one, but I also think that this tournament deserves a lot of attention.

What about BH4? Just by its reputation alone, I'd say it has an equal, if not better, shot at being the most stacked PM tournament compared to LTC before Apex 2015.

I'd be going for project m though... will there be an Injustice tournament too?

More Tournaments! Yes! I can't enter because I would get last… but yes! Does anyone else think it would be amazing if you could host online tournaments in Smash 4 like you can in Mario Kart 8? Free to enter, then we could all be in the tourney for free. Plus it's great practice. Of course, major tournaments must be done in person.

I brought Melee to church last Wensday, there are so good at running up to their opponets and attacking like mad. But the need practice in recovery.
