Okay, so I'm looking to get a monitor with the same lagtime as a CRT to play melee. I'd love to have an exact link to one

I'm also looking to start using Dolphin and would like to know how I do this is an apple computer.

Thanks

No such thing exists, if you refer to a non-laggy CRT. 2 ms over CRT is the fastest right now. Asus VG248QE is one of the fastest.

Go here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/
Download the newest Mac OS X version.

What's all this about BenQ monitors having 1ms delay? I'd love to know what I'm looking at before I try purchasing anything.

The new BenQ XL series are very fast too, but not 1 ms for 60 hz content. 1 ms is for 144 hz, but that’s not possible with Melee. For 60 hz, they have 2-3 ms as well.

Dunno why it's taking so long for this to catch on

Official fancy page: http://gaming.benq.com/gaming-monitor/rl2460ht

Where you should buy it from: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-RL2460HT...=UTF8&qid=1434430979&sr=8-1&keywords=rl2460ht

Been playing on it for over 6 months with Sewell HDMI adapter and taken it to multiple tourneys. 1ms, analog and HD inputs for composite or HDMI adapters, HDMI out for lawless recording. This is the best monitor for Melee that currently exists. Only downside is the speakers suck but the Sewell adapter has audio jack to route sounds to speakers, so problem solved.

Probably because no reliable group has tested its input lag yet. 1 ms is the advertised response time, this value usually differs quite a bit from the actual input lag. DisplayLag measured its input lag as 2.6 ms at the top portion of the screen. That’s obviously more than 1 ms. But (imho) DisplayLag’s testing method isn’t as accurate as prad.de’s and doesn’t give the isolated input lag value. The 2.6 ms should still be very close to it.

The best monitor for Melee that currently exists when mostly considering lag is any high-end CRT monitor. Those have 0.00067 ms input lag at the top line of the screen. (Dunno if DisplayLag measure the top line or the end of the first quartile, where a monitor displaying 60 hz content could not possibly have less than 4 ms (due to the incoming frames being near-continuous over time), which is why I don’t like the way they present their values much. The actual input lag of the RL2460HT can be anything from <1 ms to 2.6 ms, but in any case it will be more than 0.00067 ms.)

Since most of that is commom knowledge at this point to anyone who has done any amount of research, I was assuming he knew all of that already...
