Smash 4 at CEO was a thrilling experience. $3000 in pot bonuses were on the line and every player in attendance was hoping to take the $500 bounty from ZeRo. Of the 512 entrants only 8 would have the chance to play on Sunday for the grand prize. The top 8 in particular had incredible talent and showcased a plethora of matchups with some surprising everyone. The final bracket can be found here for those who wish to view it. Now onto the recap!
The first matches took place on the losers side of bracket: Dabuz vs Shaky and Larry Lurr vs NickRiddle. The first match had both players trading the lead in games, but when it came down to the final fight Larry Lurr was able to pull out the victory for a 3-2 win. Shaky was able to take a dominant game one off Dabuz on Final Destination but then fell to two SDs in his second match and two losses thereafter allowing Dabuz to move forward.

Then the first two matches were played out on the winners side. Recently sponsored ESAM came up against the man to beat: ZeRo. While ESAM did manage to snag one game from ZeRo his Pikachu wasn't enough and ZeRo took the match 3-1. Nairo vs MVD was a much closer bout. They both managed to have two games against each other, but instead of choosing Zero Suit Samus for the final match against MVD's Diddy Kong he made a sudden switch to Dark Pit. This was enough to push him over and win the match 3-2.
I appreciate the support a lot as well! GOTTA BE THE ONE TO BEAT ZERO FOR EVERYONE!!

Then the match everyone in the venue and at home alike was waiting for. ZeRo vs Nairo. Many fans were of a mind that if anyone could take down ZeRo it would most certainly be Nairo. After ZeRo won the first match as a two stock things looked grim, but Nairo was able to bring it back game 2 taking a game. ZeRo won the next to bouts however, and Nairo was sent to losers bracket.
Speaking of losers bracket, MVD brought out the "PUPPYPOWER" and tried to use Duck Hunt to take on Dabuz's Rosalina but to no avail. With only one game left he made a desperate switch to Captain Falcon but just couldn't manage a win being eliminated after the 3-0. The next match saw Larry Lurr and ESAM facing off and had one of the most surprise matches of the tournament. After losing the first two matches ESAM switched to his favorite Melee character Samus in an attempt to stay alive. The gambit actually payed off and ESAM managed to push to game four, but after switching back to Pikachu he couldn't close out the win and was eliminated.
I won the same number of games as Samus today as i did Pikachu. LMAO

This saw Larry Lurr to face Dabuz for fourth place. While Larry fought hard two unusual and costly counterpicks Halberd cost him dearly and he was unable to take a single game. This lead Dabuz to face Nairo for one last shot at the bounty on ZeRo's head. While Dabuz gave it his all, Nairo pulled out a resounding 3-1 victory and moved on to the grand finals and a last chance at first place.
3rd/512 at CEO, not bad, could do better...but not bad. I WILL body Zero if I get a chance to fight him next national.

Time for grand finals. One last chance to see the $500 dollars in Nairo's pocket alongside a first place win at CEO 2015. Nairo gave the crowd hope managing to take game one, but ZeRo was just too powerful to be taken down. He proceded to win the next three matches securing himself first place at CEO 2015.

UGC Larry Lurr vs VS NickRiddle (3-2)
Larry Lurr and NickRiddle had some seriously impressive games. The first match saw Fox and Zero Suit Samus colliding on Final Destination. The first stocks went as expected getting to high damages, but the final stock was a very early down smash into Flip Jump. Larry returned to FD but this time pulled out his Luigi. This time the match was very different, with Larry pulling out a 2 stock and even ending the game with a cheeky taunt. Game three took place on Dreamland, and after the first stock was taken, Larry’s Luigi was able to press for a serious advantage, netting 95% before he finally lost his first stock. He was able to quickly clean up NickRiddle’s second stock and they headed to game four. The next game also went to Dreamland but was completely reversed with NickRiddle getting the stock lead and pressing his advantage to win. Both fighting for their tournament lives, they went to game five on Battlefield with Larry changing back to Fox. This match was a resounding win for Larry, as he managed to stay at only 21% damage for almost an entire minute the first stock, and took no damage before taking NickRiddle’s second stock as well. Winner – UGC Larry Lurr
