August 22nd 2015 Update
This is a large SBRank update that introduces several new features! First, as you may have already noticed, there are estimated earnings columns for each bracket. Uploaders can customize their own payout structure when submitting results, but if nothing is set it will fall back to a default depending on what category the event is in,

Secondly, we now have a search function. Players, Tournament Organizers, Tournament Uploaders, and anyone with an interest in tournaments can now go the the brackets page of any game category and query the system for the option you would like. For example, Tournament Uploaders are able to enter their Smashboards username on the search bar and brackets that they have uploaded will show up neatly. There are other ways to use the Search function but in that case we will provide those who have more interest with a link to the changelog https://xenforo.com/community/resources/8wayrun-com-xentorneo-rankings-pro.785/updates

There have also been some changes to the point spreads and categories. Here are the new SBRanks categories we'll be using from now on:
  • Teams (unranked)
  • Pools (unranked)
  • Online (unranked
  • Unranked (unranked)
  • Local (10 pts per person, max of 640 pts)
  • Regional (1280 pts)
  • National (1920 pts)
  • International (2560 pts)
Frequency Clauses:
  • If a series runs at a bi-weekly or higher frequency, no events in the series will be considered in a regional or greater category

  • Internationals in the same series must be at least 6mo apart, or else they will all be downgraded to at least nationals

  • Nationals in the same series must be at least 3mo apart, or else they will all be downgraded to at least regionals
In addition, the point spread for each category has been slightly changed (will update this thread when published) These point changes will be implemented within the next week, along with the retroactive re-categorizing of events that happened within the last 12 months. When its all ready, our official rankings will be published under the new system and announced (Aug 28th). All of the rankings will be updated every 2 weeks from now on.

One last change, the 3DS, Online WiiU and Online 3DS categories have been closed. All three can still be submitted, but from now on as "Smash for WiiU">unranked/online with 3DS specified in the title/description if needed. The archives can be seen here:

The #SBRanks hashtag will be the official one to use with any references to the new system, so please feel free to use it! Post your thoughts / opinions in this subforum's other threads.
