Catching Bullets: Clanking with Projectiles

Little Mac has very little options against projectiles. Sure you could maybe jump, roll, creep in with the shield.

But why not just punch that f***sh*t? Projectiles?? F:starman::starman::starman: YOU!

In case you didn't know, clanking also fills up your KO meter. So heck yea.




I will only list the quickest, weakest and also safest move you could whip out.

Also, D-Tilt has less endlag than Jab1, assuming you're not continuing the Jab, and it charges the KO Punch more, so that's often the ideal way to clank out projectiles while still being concerned about retaliation. If you have a choice between the two and you're not fighting Luigi's fireballs, D-Tilt is the way to go.

  1. don't even bother trying to hit the arrow whether uncharged or not because its hitbox is really small and will probably hit either your head or your feet.

ummm so yeah f*** miis and custom moves. there are other moves that are technically projectiles but just not as easily spammable or hard to deal with

Male Robin not sure, but female Robin is listed there.

As for wario... are you telling me you have a hard time dealing with him throwing his bike around?

Yeah u.u I fought a custom Wario with the fast bike and couldn't find what to do. Also, sorry didn't see Robin :p

If a Wario rides his Bike into you, you can use a Smash attack, armor through the hitbox, and hit the Bike (and Wario if he's still on it). If he's quickly ditching the Bike, you can probably use a Forward-B if you time the hit well (as in, before the Bike itself would hit you).

Also, D-Tilt has less endlag than Jab1, assuming you're not continuing the Jab, and it charges the KO Punch more, so that's often the ideal way to clank out projectiles while still being concerned about retaliation. If you have a choice between the two and you're not fighting Luigi's fireballs, D-Tilt is the way to go.

ok cool. though just holding A is easier and funnier imo

Actually, you don't add anything to your meter if you outprioritize it based on damage. If your move deals 8+% over what you're clanking with, it doesn't benefit you.

So with a Mario Fireball (deals 4%), a Mac D-Smash (12%) will not fill your bar at all as you clank with it.

Also, Mac's Jabs and Tilts have a special property where they will not stop based on priority (which is entirely based on damage those moves deal). You can't clank out Mac's Jabs or Tilts, basically--They just keep going, for better or worse.

^ FTilt for the above reason is fantastic as the first hit will force a clank vs other attacks, guaranteeing the second hit. FTilt is also pretty good for beating some projectiles that jab can't, as they hit projectiles at about the same level but FTilt both hits have slightly higher priority due to higher damage (2% vs 4% and 8%).

Yeah like when i fight megaman and he does his mega buster shots I just ftilt through them looking to trade with megaman to get inside.
