Powering through attacks to send foes flying is incredibly satisfying in Smash 4. There are two different ways to do this in the game: super armor and heavy armor. Heavy armor also falls into two classifications of its own. If this sounds confusing Beefy Smash Doods has the perfect video. In it they highlight how armor works in the game showing example of all moves in action and explaining how it works. Give it a watch and up that Smash game with armored moves!

SmashCapps had a great time at Evo but is happy to be back home once again writing the news! To keep up with all of his adventures be sure to follow him on Twitter.

One thing I wish they would of went over was what happens when two attacks with SA collide.
Wouldn't they literally absorb eachother, provided neither attack's hitbox lasts longer than or comes out before the other's armor frames?

As a Little Mac main, I can answer.

Basically, if the timing is right, both characters simply take the damage and no knockback. However, this is somewhat rare, as what will usually happen is that a player will be caught out of armor and the other will simply take damage.

You'd think... Even with the same attack on both sides one usually wins. This might just be Pit's Fspecial being weird again, but rather then clash when two collide they both "win" and both go flying.

That is a trade. When they strike they no longer have SA so it trades instead of both taking damage and no knockback.

I remember something about Bowser's Upsmash being able to power through almost any attack, but didn't think much of it... now I see Puff's Dash attack do something similar... I'm intrigued

btw, that accent of theirs is interesting... not sure which one it is, though.

oh, priority, huh?

I reckon we should do some testing to see which moves get cancelled out by dash-attack, pound, N-air, and F-air soon :)
forward air can be used to shield from many non lingering projectiles and explosions. I remember in brawl my friend would Zelda, and hated me cause I could advance on his dins fire spam with forward air and come out unscathed. The property was carried over to 4.
