Avoiding the waveshine

How do I properly get around a waveshining fox? I try to SDI and stuff but I can't escape. Tips?

if you get hit by the shine all you can do is hold shield and hope the fox is too slow with whatever he/she tries to do after it.

I don't believe that is correct, I know that you're able to smash DI it to get behind them. I'm not sure if you can ASDI it or not or what the best option is

if this is true, does anyone know how many frames are needed to do it?

Just gotta SDI it. ASDI doesn't move you far enough to escape.

wiggle the stick in the direction you're trying to sdi

Since when can peach smash di out of wave shine? >.<

Unless the Fox is angling the stick too far downwards, you can't escape the waveshine even with smashdi.
But you can escape drillshine.

But if you notice the fox isn't doing long wavedashes, and doing the lazy diagonal notch wavedashes I think you can get out after two shines.
