Hey where's everyone going to play once this is all over tomorrow? Does anyone know if anyone else will pick up the Midwest / Chicago-Land scene if not EXP?

Oh! That is great to hear. So it will go to end this year, into next year, etc. until further notice? If so that's great. It's nice to have consistency when it comes to venues.

Bobby (the guy who runs EXP) has said that we'll be moving to a bigger and better venue in the future, so expect this to continue on for some time :).

so would anybody be able to pick me up from the Menards about a mile and a half down the road I'll be able to make it at around 430 if anyone can pick me up if not I would not be able to walk there in time

Announcement 1: From now onwards, Windy City Smash will be uploading all brackets under the rankings tab. Make sure you go and claim your points! I've taken the liberty of tagging all of the players who I know of who have a smashboards account. If the characters used in tournament are listed incorrectly, feel free to edit them and change it to the characters you used within the tournament that week.

Announcement 2: Thanks to the efforts of Kaysick, Webs, and Zwarm, we've gotten access to adding our VODs to the Media tab through Warchamp7! I've been uploading all of our VODs whenever time permits for me to do so. It tags your username through smashboards, categorizes it based on character, game, if it is singles or doubles, etc. It's pretty neat! Feel free to check it out if you wish! :chuckle: Everything that's uploaded is being placed into playlists based on if its singles for Melee, singles for Project M, and doubles for both as well(this also applies to any events outside of our local weeklies).

I've been talking to Bobby, Zwarm, and Webs about this and I truly feel that it's important to make our presence known on the site that is the central hub of the very game we play competitively and love so dearly. I really have enjoyed helping out where I can and hope that I can continue to do so in any way I can. Making our presence know is something that is very important to the growth of our community in Chicago. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the changes and look forward to the exposure! This will only be benefiting us in a multitude of ways. This will help us look far more presentable and professional!

Just curious does Melee typically run all the way til 1 A.M.? Got 8 A.M. class in the city on Thursdays, so that's unfortunately going to basically kill my chance of attending :(

When Melee runs second (which is this week), i would say top 8 starts playing around 10:45-ish, sometimes earlier. So unless you find yourself still in bracket at that point, you can leave as soon as you're knocked out.

Bobby is good at making sure there isn't a bunch of stalling between matches.

By the way, if you click on the event and copy+paste the "Thread Embed Code" on the right, you can have it show up on your posts. For example, if you wanted to paste the results + bracket for PM Singles, type "(event=full)2172(/event)" but replace the open/close parentheses with open/close brackets.

You're actually able to change the character yourself. Could you identify what game specifically you're talking about? I'm assuming Melee?
