all star versus mode freeze

maybe someone can help me out, idk why it keeps happening but i keep trying to play all star vs, i pick my characters (kinda guessed based on other posts how it works, select one char, grab the p1 token, pick another char, rinse and repeat, end on first character) and when i go to stage selection and pick a stage it freezes, idk what's causing it. anyone got any advice?

Just thought I'd add that I have the same problem. Not sure if there is more to selecting the characters, but I reinstalled on a formatted SD card and it still has the issue.

From what I've seen you just leave the button on the final character you want to use, not bring it back to the first. Maybe adding too many characters causes the system to overload?

idk mayb, i tried reinstalling but it still doesn't work and i tried setting it on two chars (i picked ike and ganon and left the cpu alone) and it still freezed
