So far there have been over 70 guides submitted to the Smashboards guide system! Per the announcement in October, we have several rewards and contests going on in accordance with the launch of this system. The winner of the 1st contest, who had the highest rated guide with over 50 ratings, is Sethlon - go here to see his guide on using Roy in Project M! Sethlon will receive $100 for having put in the quality work, as well as the recognition others have shown for it.

It's time to move into the second phase of our contest relating to the guide system. Initially we had hoped to establish a thread for submitting guides and voting on those guides earlier this month. With the launch of Super Smash Brothers for Wii U things fell a bit behind. Here are the new details of the "Top Voted" guide contest:

Top Voted Guide Rules
  • Visit the guide section and review guides
  • Submit via posting in the comments of THIS news article what guide you liked the most
  • We'll allow submissions through December 15th, 2014
  • You may NOT submit your own guide (and don't make a duplicate account :))
  • On December 16h we'll post a news article with a public poll for voting!
What is at Stake? $200!
Since we are extending the dates a bit, we've added an additional $50 to the this contest! The top 4 vote-getting guides (based on the news article that gets posted on December 15) will get:
1st - $100
2nd -$50
3rd - $25
4th - $25

How Can I Create a Guide?
Creating a guide is easy! Simply go to the new Smashboards Guide section, select a game, a character, and then "Create Guide". You can add images, font, colors, and gifs to your guide. The guide will also auto-generate a thread in the respective character specific forum so people can talk about it and find it easily. Finally, users can also rate your guide and provide feedback!

Okay, What Now?
1 - If you're not going to make a guide, take a moment to check out what guides are there and then reply to THIS news article with your favorite - we'll make sure to include it in the voting news article on the 15th.
2 - If you want to have a chance to win the cash at stake, make sure you've got a solid guide! Don't have a guide yet? Make one!

wish somebody would vote for my SSBM Luigi guide. ssb4 guides are just popular because the game is new(even though it is lame).

Will have to try and get the MM guide updated for this potentially (not sure how community guides might be handled). Thankfully finals are just about over.

@ MudkipUniverse MudkipUniverse I could understand melee players hate, but why don't more of these melee players play Project M? Project m is fast, difficult, incredibly technical, and has a big competitive scene. It's not at apex, and may not be at some other big competitive tournaments, but it's still got a great scene, and it's a fast fun game. Plus, you yourself can edit the game, and they're trying to add even more characters!

Competitive Philosophy for Super Smash Bros. by T0MMY. I can't link it due to my low post count, though.

I think this Shulk guide is pretty legit...

:D
This would be my vote. It has all the important basics for using Shulk and isn't too overwhelming for beginners. Not to mention that it is a video which makes it so you can see what it being talked about.

(Since I am a new registered member I can't post the quoted link so see original post for that.)

I want to win this, but two days seems a bit too short to create a guide of the quality I want to provide. Eh, 20 hours should suffice if I don’t take breaks.
I just hope someone’s gonna vote on it for me.

Are only character guides allowed or general guides as well?
