If you were one of the people who was entered into the wrong game or not entered at all I'd appreciate it if you could message me saying who you are and what happened (what game you tried to enter, what you were actually entered in).

[COLLAPSE="Apologies, thanks, reflections"]
Apologies:
Everyone who was entered into the wrong bracket or not entered at all. This is the major problem with this tournament for which there is no excuse. Because the problem wasn't realized until after a few rounds of bracket had been run refunding people's money was all I could do; that does not change the fact that these people were ripped off, especially those who did a lot of driving to get here. I want these events to be more than locals, I want people to come from different areas, that's exactly the hope I had for these events when I ran MSM1. I'm incredibly disappointed that upon achieving it, I was entirely unprepared and far too disorganized to accommodate the number of entrants and run a quality event. I appreciate everyone who came and I'm sorry I let you down. I'd also like to apologize for sounding rude/insensitive to anyone who kept trying to get an explanation or ask if there was anything else I could do in addition to refunding their money. At that point there was nothing else I could do and I desperately wanted to focus on running the flawed bracket that had been generated to salvage the event as much as possible. Restarting the bracket in order to put everyone in who rightfully should have been after already playing 2 rounds of it was simply impossible given time constraints. There was only one case in which I was able to replace a player who should have been entered in the first place with someone who dropped out. This was a local player and not one of the people who traveled. I apologize for this as well; had I been more aware of what was going on I would have given precedence to those who had been through more trouble to be there. The replacement player just happened to be at the desk when someone dropped out. I hope those of you who traveled will consider coming back to one these someday if I show I'm able to fix these mistakes and run a quality event.

Everyone who made it fairly far in bracket and consequently had to wait an unreasonable amount of time to play most of their important matches.

The P:M top players who were robbed of the chance to compete for first, second, and third place. It's very disappointing to see the game that likely would have had the closest grand finals not be played to completion.

I intend to learn from my mistakes this weekend and keep running tournaments. Next time I'll be prepared for a large number of entrants and make sure to be organized enough to accommodate it; until then I will not attempt to run a multi-game event of this size. It would help immensely if people would pre-register so I could have an idea of how large each game is going to be. Next time I'll push pre-registration more, have some sort of incentive for people to actually do it, and offer free pre-registration to allow those who don't wish to pay online to be processed and entered into bracket ahead of time to prevent mistakes.

Thanks:
Davon Sanders for letting us use his laptop. This was the life support of the event. Without another Tio setup I doubt we would have been able to complete the tournament nearly as much as we did.

Jacob, Chi, and Ben for recognizing my the fact that I wasn't going to get this done without assistance and jumping on board to help run things. Chi facilitated Brawl, Ben spent most of his day running PM, and and after he had to leave Jacob stepped in and finished PM. Without your help the tournament would have failed entirely and I doubt we could have finished anything except Brawl.

Andrei Zah for bringing a great stream setup with a full tower and doing the best he could to run a quality stream. I feel that like me he was inexperienced/unprepared which led to disagreements, disappoinments, and areas to be improved on for the future. I'm very glad we have people here who are dedicated to the idea of running quality streams in NC. You and Keith should work together. Next time coordination between TOs and streamers and better planning on both parts will result in a better experience for the viewers and anyone involved in running the stream.

Every person there who made the best of the situation and was still able to enjoy the event somewhat despite the circumstances. I'll do better for you guys next time.

Kevin for bringing me cookout fries which were the only thing I had to eat between Noon and 3:00am, that was godlike.

do a 60/30/10 split if you're paying out top 3 next time

or 50/30/15/5 for top 4

way to many entrants to be doing 70/20/10

other than that and other mentioned hiccups

I had a blast

will try to be at the next one

Wow I can't believe I ranked 13 in PM. I gotta go further than that though. That Falcon mirror PP and ESam had though. Falcon game was vicious. Also, mad props to my boy SpoiledRamen for getting so far with a wiimote.
