WHOBO 5 (MK banned) FULL RESULTS [October 19-20th, 2013 - Houston, Tx]

Xyro (the living legend) came out of "retirement" to host a Metaknight banned WHOBO 5 on Oct 19-20th 2013 in Houston Tx @ Zuma Fun Center. He did this because his scene cried/begged him to show off his savant like TO powers one last time and bring the people of planet earth together for one final WHOBO.

I wanna give special shout-outs to CT Chibo for the incredible stream, Fujin for the late night stories/drinking (super/mega fun), gnes for fixing pools and Denti for being Tx last hope at WHOBO.

Ish went Puff in LT dubs, I went puff/zelda/lucas. I went peach/ness/kirby in dubs and ness/kirby (won 1 set each) in MT dubs. JUST IN CASE NE1 CARE

Big shoutouts to all the melee and PM players for being awesome and rekindling my friend Ryan's interest in competitive smash after being gone for 8 years. And same to the brawl players for putting on such a great show that my friend Jace is interested in competitive smash for the first time and is cracking out the wii again.

Also I had a great time commentating with Delux, MVD, and Inui, and anyone else I may have forgotten. Thank you guys and Chibo so much for letting me be not only commentate CT for the first time but to be a regular commentator this tournament. Commentating is pretty much my favourite thing to do and I've never had that big an audience before, and want to keep practicing and improving so hopefully you guys'll have me back.

I'm really glad I came out from Canada to this, you all made this a weekend I'll never forget.

I just woke up in buffalo so I'm sure I'm forgetting lots of people. I've also been carrying this rolled up posted under my arm everywhere I'm going in my complicated trip home hooray

Jnig- you beat m2k, overcoming one of Wario's dumb MUs once again, AND you ended it with waft. Too good. You and Esca did well in doubles too. I hope people are noticing you because you know what you're doing. Thanks for bringing me once again, you don't know how much I appreciate it.

Pick up a mid and low tier already.

Gunner - wtf am I doing. You failed me too All I wanted from you was to not SD! Sigh...it was your first national too if I'm not mistaken, so no shame, but now you know what you need to work on. Sorry I never committed in doubles, I didn't have enough faith in myself to enter teams with you and then flop (See Low tiers). You and I both know you can do better, so get at it.

Brawlman - I'M SORRY!!!!! I let you down man. We had a realistic shot of WINNING LTDs, but I just couldn't pull through. Game 2 was just awful on my part. I killed you once and I jumped off like an idiot and got spiked. Then I got ledge-hogged…Overall, we both played alright and we both bad some epic comebacks, but I just couldn't pull through 4th is alright, but we could've gotten the gold...sigh. One match from stream...I still feel like a nobody. You did great though and I'm glad we teamed.

For singles, it was your first national IIRC. You almost made it out, just one game short. That's fine, and it's a lot better than I've ever done in singles lol. You've got it next time. You know what you did wrong: fix it and come back strong.

For mid tier, same thing, but to a lesser extent. 13th out of 51 is not bad at all. I know you can do even better, so keep working at it.

BSP- you idiot. You jumped out against Samus at Who's Tyler 6 and got spiked. You had the goddamn lead this time and did it AGAIN. You blew it. Pitiful. We could've won, but I ****ed up again. I had fun, but we should've made top 2 at least. There may not be a next time either, so…****.

Mid tiers was alright. Didn't play stupid enough against Asa, and Z just outplayed me. I had fun though.

IDGAF about reg. singles. Maybe I was still bummed about low tier, but whatever, I’m bad at the full version of this game.

Xyro - thanks for holding the event. I'm glad I came. The only complaint I have is about that period on Saturday (or was it Sunday...? I'm already drawing a blank) in which I don't think any tournament matches happened for like 2 hours. I know I played friendlies for a long time and I was thinking "there's no way that there's no other tourney matches that could be going now." Someone posted on FB about it too. If it was one person holding everything up, I'd ask for the event limit too. I'd hate to tell someone they can't enter everything they want, but I wouldn't want to keep a lot of others waiting either. Your call though. Otherwise, no problems. Great venue, food nearby, all good.

Oh wait, Mid tiers turning into Mid + Low tiers: I wish you would’ve been more vocal about that before my first match. I would’ve gone Mario for sure.

Xyro + Vinnie : I threw that game and set to you guys. I'm definitely salty and I want a rematch if we're all at the same tournament again. If Brawlman is up for it, that is. I doubt it'll happen, but you never know.

Airbrush – thank you too for running the event. I didn’t get a poster because I’m a complicated individual, but they were sick.

Espy + Megafox - thanks for the MM, but I wish we could've gotten to you two in bracket. We shot too many fireballs, fell into Usmash too many times, and got Bair’d too much. More Salt.

Z: you're a fun and funny dude. Thanks for the tips and good job at this event. Fsmash angled up is too good.

Esca: thank you so much for housing and good job in the tourney. You and Jnig did work in doubles, and you made it into bracket at least. I was impressed. Luigi in mid tiers though lol. Time him out.

Steep and Silent: it was nice meeting some other mario players, and you're both cool guys. How did you guys do better in normal 2v2 than low tier 2v2? That’d odd. I know you guys could've done better based off of our mario quads. Anyways, again, it was nice meeting you both.

Paper: ggs from our friendlies. GW is an annoying character lol, especially when you play bad people like me. Uair is dumb. Dthrow is dumb. Ggs though.

Seagull: good job at this tournament, you really went in. You overestimated me for reg singles though lol. I’m terrible in reg. singles. Nice to finally meet you as well.

Delux – nice meeting you. We only played 2 games or so, but they were fun. I’m sure you can figure Mario out yourself, considering you’ve figured out ICs pretty well.

Sync – Do not fall into Luigi’s Fsmash. You got hit at 49% and died at 69%, goddamn lol.


I’m soooo bad. As usual, I'm disappointed in myself, but there's not much I can do about it now.

Super fun tournament! I entered like a million events.

I caught abit of GF match 3 with Vinnie going Gdubs. My dreams, hype, and hope came alive at day. Match 4 though, my dreams, hype and hope died shortly afterwards. Still...praise to all the Gdubs that went.

Yeah for real <_< The screeching towards the end of the event and general annoyingness was really pissing me off throughout the weekend.

And I don't even know who was doing what during the me vs MegaFox match but that was probably one of the most upset times I've ever been in the middle of a match. Being cheered for or against w/e, but basically having like an army of people screaming at me to purposefully mess me up - **** was f'ed up. I was literally about to pause mid stock when it was happening and tell you all off but stopped myself the moment before I did since I was afraid I would auto lose the match and the fright of almost doing that and that **** still continuing just absolutely lost it for me and I couldn't handle it.

I absolutely loved the event and my time in Texas as always but as a player if that's what I have to put up with then **** that.

Oh, those were the unfunny trashtalkers? Y'all need to learn how to provide actual good ****-talking, for real. That was just poor form, not funny, and quite annoying. And y'all were ugly.
