Next are the Western New York Power Rankings
First of all, I'd like to credit KneeOfJustice (KoJ) for creating these power rankings.
Definition:
The power rankings were some what of an idea we have been tossing around for a while. Since nothing has yet come to fruition, I took it upon myself to make what should accurately reflect the Western New York metagame. A few things of note. First off, this list reflects virtually only Rochester area players. That is because currently, it is for the most part the only region in WNY that we know anything about, or have consistent results on. Until we know more about players in other areas, the list will only be able to correctly display the skill level of players in this area.
This list also only reflects how well you play in this area. You may go out of state and perform very well there, but if you can only manage to place decently some of the time here, that's all we can fairly gauge you on.
Secondly, this list attempts the most fair method at players who consistently attend tournaments. Because of this, to qualify for the rankings, you have to meet two criteria.
1) You MUST participate in at least half or more of the available events in this area. This is done for several reasons. Namely, a very good player could come in, win a tournament, have a perfect record, and never attend again for the duration of the season. In the unlikely event of this, it would not be fair for this mystery player to top the power rankings for a seasons length at the expense of players who make the effort to attend whenever possible.
This is also done, because if you participate in too few tournaments, it does not allow us to see how good or consistent you really are. You might get a very easy bracket one week, and ride it to Grand Finals for a good ratio that week, when in reality you only faced poorer players that wouldn't normally place in the top bracket. This is also to promote competition. If you aren't around often enough, it gives few players a chance to test their skills against you, as well as potentially take you down a peg.
2) Of the tournaments you attend in the season, you must have placed in the scoring group at LEAST ONCE. This one is rather obvious. If you don't place in the top, you don't receive a win ratio, and therefore, you have no actual score to go by.
On to the actual scoring. The goal is to get your score as close to "1" as possible. A player with the score of "1" would have won every tournament they had attended. Because this has not yet happened, the list is ordered by players with the best relative scores, and then in descending order.
You receive a ratio based on your placement. Because most tournaments in this area do not become excessively large, it is fair to take the top 8 participants on a weekly basis. In the event that we host a 64+ person bi-weekly, or we hold a large event in general, as separate ratio chart will need to be developed.
These are the ratios you receive based on your placing:
1st: 8/8
2nd: 7/8
3rd: 6/8
4th: 5/8
5th-6th: 4/8
7th-8th: 2/8
9th+: 0/8
You will have noticed the score of zero for those who place outside of the top. This is in case you are a regular top placer, and happen to have a bad week. Because these results need to be as accurate as possible, and demonstrate how consistent a player is, not performing to your best on a regular basis has its penalties.
How it works: If you place 4th one week, and 7th the following, you would have a score of 5/8+2/8, which would come out to 7/16. This is your earned points, over the points you had the potential to earn. Therefore, a score of 7/16 would yield a rating of 0.44.
In the event of a tie, players who participated more than the one they tied with were given the advantage. This is because those players attending more are having to constantly prove their consistency, as well as providing the opportunity to take them down, thus, jeopardizing their rating.

Without further ado, this is the current list, based on the above charts, and required criteria. [Note: Players whose names are italicized are currently inactive in
tournaments this season. Players who are inactive at the end of the season will be dropped from the rankings until next season].
1. JesiahTEG - 40/40 (1.0)
2. PikaPika! - 34/40 (.85)
SilverSpawn - 12/16 (.75)
3. Asylum - 13/24 (.54)
4. Xivii - 20/40 (.5)
KoJ - 8/16 (.5)
Dom aka Tuxedo Mask - 4/8 (.5)
5. Owna - 19/40 (.4Cool
6. Goggles - 6/24 (.25)
Ranjiz - 4/16 (.25)
This is the up to date Fall Season Power Rankings. Congratulations to everyone who made it on.
This is the list of players who will become inactive should they not attend the next available tournament:
(N/A)
I understand that this may be unfair to some, and we understand that sometimes we have prior engagements of commitments that supersede attending tournaments. However, this is the only fair method to players who show up and participate regularly, and give their effort.
Also, if you had to leave a tournament due to extenuating circumstances, let me know, and I will REMOVE the score that you would receive. This will fortunately count as an attendance, so you will not be marked absent. Just remember to tell me.
Final Thoughts: I feel this is the fairest method, as it allows players a more reasonable way to rise amongst and into the ranks of talented local players, while still being able to realistically pass other players during the season. I hope this will fuel the competitive drive, as well as bringing in new players to the scene.

1. JesiahTEG - 40/40 (1.0)
2. PikaPika! - 34/40 (.85)
SilverSpawn - 12/16 (.75)
3. Asylum - 13/24 (.54)
