Cool results nice to see a bunch of mid tiers did so well, good stuff guys, melee is too good.

Valoem: All of the results are correct.

A few people asked me to do a running tally much like you see there. But they were going bam-bam on all of the events I didn't have time.

It was sometime about 11:30 p.m. and I was about to say **** it and leave mvc2 midway through, but that ish was great to watch even if it ran late (thanks to a contested ruling).

To those looking toward me for the 64-person semifinal bracket and the eight preliminary divisions, I do not have it.

I really do hope evo learns from this evo for smash bros melee since they are doing brawl. They need to let players warm up on their stations. I think that was the biggest let down.

To those who missed my message on the other thread, I should mention it here as well:

Thanks to all who were following the updates on my site. My deepest apologies for the site unexpectedly going down during that time.

The problems began during the ST finals. I was checking to see if the updates were going along and I get something along the lines of "SITE UNAVAILABLE." I thought it was just a temporary blip, but it wasn't. I said to myself, "What the **** is going on?" The site didn't come back up until about 30 seconds later.

I initially dismissed it for two reasons. The first was that you needed a code to get wi-fi access at the Green Valley Ranch. And the code lasted about 50 minutes, you had to keep logging in. I thought the 'site unavailable crap' was because of the accessibility through the casino/hotel. The second reason was because, after OC3 where I got a load of **** from you guys about lag with videos, I bought more bandwith to prevent this from happening.

I really didn't start getting pissed until there was a semifinal CvS2 match, and the site died, and it stayed dead for a minute (the average down time was about 45 seconds, from what I experienced).

Then, when it was time for Melee, as many of you know, it went out again during a late-bracket match. SNPR, who was helping me log the times for the Melee matches (big ups to him for the help), also saw the site go down and I was about to go insane.

I could have stopped with the updates to figure out what was wrong, or continue with the updates and just hope everything improves. I decided to just keep going and hope the situation resolved itself.

I've been on the site several times today, and there's been no problems. Based on the site statistics that I had, the attendance was six times that of an average Sunday. Still, that's no excuse for the site repeatedly going out. I cannot accept the site going down the way it did.

When I get home, I plan to talk to my provider and find out what happened. If it means opting out of my deal with them and moving to a new company, then I will. I do not want this happening at SCC, where I'm planning even bigger coverage.

Again, thanks to everyone who was following on my site, and you can expect a similar scoreboard at SCC. I would like to hear your thoughts about the updates and what you'd like to see (please don't post it here, though, please PM or e-mail me)

I've heard that most of the matches in the smash tournament were best of 1. Please tell me that that is a big joke...

Third strike and smash had too many entries to do 2/3 during qualifiers, so they did 2/3 rounds best of 1. The finals were the normal format.

the snk vs capcom matches were insane. Anyone see that bas guy play, vega. Cant really hurt vega hes way too fast and the bison combo just *****, including the sakura combo. Blanka was used to just rake in damage and defense. Those guys were insane.

Plus they showed the combo video some guy made with the glitches. Best video has to be the jean claude van damme sf version, that game was broken.

well congratulations to Ken and Hugs but if all the matches with the exception of finals were best of 1 then this is not to be taken as a serious tournament. Expecially if even on best of 1 the stage is random. Let's assume a player is using Jigglypuff against Fox/Marth. Random stage ends up being Yoshi Story => owned.

be careful there is a new guy in town, his name is juan he is from venezuela. right now he is in atlanta. he wants to play with the best of USA. if you can play with him i recommend to all of you. take my advise.

Wes: You won 1 match out of 5. Sit down. We played the first match and I won by a percent lead on the buzzer as your east coast people were talking **** the whole time. I don't really have a problem with that though. I just find it funny...cuz after I played you again and I 3 and 2 stocked you 2 matches in a row, they got mad ****ing quiet. You could hear a pin drop.
Leave it to wes to get **** faced, not join a tournament, get ***** in friendlies, and still say he's the best samus after the SAME samus that was ****** him got 2nd. You're still my samus brother though. Good seeing you again. I'm the best samus though, no questions asked.

I also want to point out for like the 20th time that ALL MATCHES ON SUNDAY WERE 2/3 WITH FINALS BEING 3/5. NO ONE GOT ****** ON SUNDAY BY PLAYING ONLY 1 MATCH GAMES. ALSO, DURING POOL PLAY THE LAST MATCH THAT LED TO A PLAYER BEING PLACED INTO THE TOP 8 ON SUNDAY WAS ALSO A 2/3. MANGO BEAT M2k IN 1 MATCH THAT RANDOMED TO DREAMLAND. BUT HE BEAT CHILLIN 2/3 AND CHILLIN BEAT m2k 2/3. GET YOUR INFO STRAIGHT.


Now, I sincerely want to thank EVO. These guys run tournaments very well. Despite the random seeding and time constraints, it's quite obvious that these guys know what they are doing. They finished a ****ing 270 man qualifying round in 3 hours.

Not only are they efficient, but in all these years I've been playing this game, I have never seen the smash community treated with as much complete fairness as EVO did in a league that included several other competitive titles.

Most major gaming leagues...have undoubtedly put Smashers in the back seat when it comes to attention, prizes, support, perks, etc.

EVO however, never once treated us as an inferior community when compared to their other games. They gave us similar prizes, they put our finals on the same big screen, they interviewed our players, put up our videos, etc.

Obviously, many fighting game players dislike smash and it's community for some reason...

But it's refreshing to see that the League itself takes a completely unbiased look at what we have accomplished, what we CAN accomplish, and what we can bring to the table to benefit the league. I am very impressed. And I hope evo is impressed with us.

What happen with Mew2King ??? Why he isn't in Top 8 ???

M2K Played Shiek against Mango (Jigglypuff player) on Dream Land, and Mango either got lucky or is actually a rather good player (he got 2nd place after all and correct me if I'm wrong, he is slated for rookie of the year? ), and was sent to Losers after 1 match (due to matches being 1 match sets) where Chillin kindly greeted him (Chillins was a 2/3 match)
Still, it must have been an amazing event, we had a crew from Puerto Rico over there, the Peach Player Eval (Blue-ish Peach) made it through quite a bit, till he got to Eddie. Let's see if I'm lucky enough not to be deployed for the next Evo or next major event that they decide to go to.
Hope that answers the question, can't wait for the EVO DVD and the videos that will come up on the net.
