Since there's a group of people in Rockport who want to play some smash, so let's discuss MST13.

Since OOS has been shaky on coming to these (recently all we had were Hayatoooo and pat/pro...or was it JHolla? >_>) (and lets not forget matt.zeb basically giving us the finger and running a smashfest the same day as the last one), should we even care about OOS turnout? I'd prefer to run this at J&R seeing as how that will mean Maine people wont have to travel 2 hours (Boxman, Rockport) to go to a Maine tournament. However, the Rockport people told me they wouldn't mind with either scenario, so it really only affects Boxman.

As for OOS, unless there's some big OOS interest in MST13, I'd say fellow Mainers take priority over OOS. I've been told CT might travel to one if it were held in the summer, and we could try to work out some housing thing (including for Boxman >_>).

So what's everyone's thoughts on this?

NH goes wherever the tourny is, but NH prefers Maiden due to it being closer. Plus, J&R = leaky pipe. How I loathe that pipe and all of its moistness.

Add NH to the Maine player finder because we don't have enough players of our own. Also change its name to the Mainehampshire player finder.

i wouldnt mind either as long as i can get a ride to J&R because i dont like driving.

morgan, ryan, neil anyone really. should work out.

OOS seems to depends on DJ coming, which sadly messes up money schemes, but he does seem to bring / attract a considerable MA showing.

I was talking to Darc about somthing around this the other day about being a pain to drive everywhere. I say lets make MST easy for Maine players to show up too since it is a Maine tourny.

How come we are the only state that i read about that has to move there venue so people don't have as much of a drive. Maine players always show up to your tournys and don't say "move your venue its to far." Suck up and deal OOS!

I'll try to get one MST at my house this summer since it seems to be a good distance between Biddeford and Thompson.

So Derek, Eric, Morgan, Ryan, Gabe and I. Swiss money match to determine 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th in Maine?

$2 a money match. Everyone plays everyone. 2/3, normal rules for the tourney it's at.

Eric and I are in. Anyone else?

This will also complete the Maine Power Ranking.

If you guys agree to doing that Pool thing, I'll run it as a side event at MST13 (although I guarantee this won't affect Low Tier at all [The only thing that affects that is large turnout, because low tier takes long, and for an example, see me vs skler at DJ's]), and keep track of everything.

Where I do feel that pooling would help in making a power ranking for Maine, I don't feel that one pooling event would be able to set anything in stone. Someone might be having a bad day or someone might be playing way better than normal. My vote is that we should just do pooling at MST on a regular basis. If we have enough setups it shouldn't be too difficult. Considering we only get about 20 people a tournament lately. 4 pools of 4-6 people wouldn't take too long.

Pick 3 if it's over 20 people. Pick 2 if it's 20 or under.

Boxman was suggesting more of a swiss money match between everyone in Maine who isn't Darc, th0rn, me, or Banks, to do power rankings for slots 5-10 (not sure why)...not to make the tournament run smoother. Considering how many people show up to these, I don't think I'll really bother with pools anytime soon.
