What is this Arcana game? I have never heard of this. It looks very similar to Guilty Gear. Great stuff though. Very entertaining even for someone who doesn't know the intricacies of the games besides Smash.

i cross post basically the same post on various forums. it makes it easier than typing out a specific post for each forum only including their game, and i figure i might as well let everyone know what else was going on at the tourney.

also, your question was very nicely answered by the next few posts. ^_^ thanks guys.

First of all, if you're really interested Chicago has a growing scene for this game and one of the best players in the country, no joke. PM and i give you some more info about the game and chicago players.

General info: Arcana Heart was developed by some of the same people that made the samurai showdown/spirits games and was released in Japanese arcades Dec. 2006. it got a japanese console release oct 2007 (ps2). there are some similarities to guilty gear (air dashes, combo-based) and some differences that make it very unique ("guard canceling," arcana selection). i have more/better arcana vids in my youtube from a more recent tourney, and will be uploading more in the next couple weeks (nec8) if you care to look. (altho there was supposed to be a smash tourney, it didnt happen.. o/w there would be vids of that as well) ^_^

yea i liked the ggac (sad there was no dizzy) but Ive never heard of arcana heart before, but yea looks like samurai showdown meets asuka 120%.
