Hopefully you get a good turnout for this, Sydney needs to get their Smash on.

I'd suggest that site/forum I suggested for you earlier (Hyperactive) I can repost it if you forgot.
There could be willing Smash players who just don't read or even know about Smahsboards.
I'll see if I can get any intested for you, but really all I can do is let people know, they have to get intersted in it themselves. :cool:

No we don't yet know if smash is on in animania. Jaz would know and I'll ask him today how that's going... Sydney definitely needs a place to meet up... OHN5 didn't have many sydney smashers in comparison to other state smashers and the funny thing was it was held in sydney.. Would have been better if it was held in Melbourne.

i Have just emailed the team AGAIN and hope to get a response... there is a slight chance that i will have to set up the whole thing, that includes TV's and cubes
if i could drive this would be a piece of cake... but i can't... i'll probably 2 large TV's for the day i'll be talking to Kulla, because he is a reliable person that can drive aswell...
3 Tv's and cubes should be enough to host the tournament i can suplly a cube, i know i can rely on Z aswell for this Dedu... and TrigOr ofcourse.
Brownie and Abhorsen won't make it due to hsc demands i presume

I'm guessing it's up to us if this tournament goes ahead

It's likely that you will have to set up the tournament, or that Animania will respond to your email message later on this week and say that they will have it organised.

Oh well... I cannot go on Sunday and that's for certain. I was planning on going out on Saturday too but I might be able to cancel and come to Animania on Saturday if that's when the SSBM tourny is on. If it's on Sunday then do without me, lol, no big loss really. It would be fun to play but it depends on the time and day.

I'm sure I can sacrifice one day of study for SSBM. Lets just hope the turnout is good. And knowing the general crowd that goes to Animania i'd probably presume that the majority will be Marth's and Fox's again.

I just sent an email to the animania team to ask what is happening as I am trying to help organise with the EGG at uni to host smash tourneys for the upcoming weekend.

Seems to be a bit slim at the moment and the only tournament that is officially organised at animania is Mario Kart DD.

On a side note, how good is the smash in Australia? Do you guys have any big name pros that could compete in the other contenent's major smash scenes (any Kens/EKs/Bombsoldiers)? I'm just wondering, I dunno who is good in Australia. Can someone mention some of the big names in Australia and who they play? Thanks in advance if someone goes out of their way to do this, I'm really interested. Don't hear much about you guys.

Australia's top players are pretty much:

Shaz (Cronos Rainbow), who plays fox
Bringer the Australian Yoshi pro
Caotic when he comes back, I assume he will be good.
Me, and I main IC

There is heaps of other decent players who skill is rising quickly. Australia does need a bigger scene.

On a side note, lol@sydney trying to hold smash related things. Even Tas>You ^_^

Anyways, too bad about Animania. I'm half happy and half disappointed about it. Mainly because I don't want to verse a Marth/Fox/Falco every 2nd game and I have our Formal the night before which finishes at 2-3am so I probably will be half dead by the morning if not passed out. Soon as we get passed November i'm sure the NSW Smash community will increase knowing a few of us have the HSC in like 3 weeks :ohwell:

Yeah and have a look at pro vids - just about every one of them use Fox/Falco/Marth and Sheik/Peach to a lesser extent.

I was disappointed with Animania as I was hoping to finally go to a tourney in NSW. Esp after when I just missed OHN5 tourney coz my folks all off a sudden landed a chore for me to do in the hols... No buts! This was a serious one!

Don't think it should be called top tier... more like pop tier whores.

Animania can be stuffed if this weekend's games event turns out to be f**ked up in the butt for all I care.

No you don't understand, there are MORE Marth/Fox/Falcos there than normal. Last time I went to Animania about 80% of the players (about 40 people?) were one of those 3 characters. I don't mind versing them, but when EVERY single game is against one of them... *YAWN* @ lameness... Stupid whores, change for once...
