I don't know if you still collect, but I don't think I have anything past gym trainer cards, and the last set I remember collecting was Jungle.

Fun tourney even though i didnt do as good as i hoped

I played cape round 1 and got owned first game

I liked our second game when u picked roy against my sheik, it was close and i was to nervous to edgehog so i ended up losing. It wouldnt have mattered anyway if i won that game because u could have just picked the same character i did and just straight up destroyed me.

Your sheik was better by far, mine needs alot more work but it was interesting to play the mirror. Also that match u had against MMX's Jiggs at Dreamland was amazing, one of the best matches i watched all day.

Well I'll try to Improve my sheik and I'm also trying to learn marth, I hope to do better next time

Ah geez, yeah we didn't get any matches in. I had a question for you, though, that I forgot to ask: What's your method of double SHL with Fox? I noticed you nailed that almost every time, and I was quite impressed with that. Also, what button do you jump with? Thanks. We definitely have to get matches in next time.

we had a talk about this actually. He uses Y jump I think, and has really good hand speed. My hands aren't that fast and I don't get to play more than once or twice a month generally, so I use up on the control stick. It's a shame I have no way to practice my technical game, but ehh, I'm not sure I'd have the focus to if I wanted to anyway. It's not really fun unless you're playing someone else, and that's not a good place to practice tech skill I guess.

He uses the slide method. I was trying to train myself to do it.


Slide your finger off the corner of the jump button and then press b twice.

The other way that I try is flicking the control stick up by putting my thumb underneath the control stick. That works too.

I guess that's because Taki is the one who showed it to me in the first place; I just assumed it was the way to go.

I was taught to use the control stick to short hop, but I found that SO insanely hard. I would hit it like 1 out of every 10 times, which is a reallllly bad ratio. I found myself SHL'ing now without even bothering to try to SHDL cause it's so hard. I also tried the "moving the left index finger over to B" method, but I'm not sure how effective that would be in an actual match. I'll have to try that more.

if your fingers are faster than the SHDL method you can DOUBLESHINE! BREAK shields, and rack up massive damage very quickly usually like 40% in about 3 secs(cooler than waveshining)! thats with about 15 shines in a row!

I bet you guys are glad I had no money to enter the singles tournament. Heh, $15 for 4th and 5th? I could've entered on an IOU and payed for entry with the winnings. Assuming I could beat twin/Kwalk of course :)

By the way, MegaManX, who was your Link playing friend? He has a decent Link. You guys are ****ing smart for team matches too...Link + Jiggz is a kickass team, especially at the stage you guys countered with. MMX, you are hella good with way too many characters. I wish I could make a trade between PA and Ohio, giving them seven of our sucky players for one MMX.

Yeah, his name is Travis, tag is Wolf (doesn't post on here). He should get more respect than what he deserves cause of his crappy pairings in the brackets. He also didn't get to play a lot of people, for some reason.

And yeah, haha, basically back here, I play my friends with a ****load of characters to be versatile. Although the only big problem with that is that I'm not specifically good with just one character. Like my Fox would do just about as good as my Marth or C. Falcon or Falco against anyone, which is probably bad. I love playing a bunch of characters, however. Too much fun.

I wish you guys lived closer, or I lived closer. That would definitely be sweet.

I always pull out a SHDL at the most rediculous times. I never try to do it either. I jsut hit it going backwards or something, and i don't even realise it. Mostly i just go for the triple laser.

I think i was playing a friendly with Rose, and i was pwning with my marth, but i honestly don't remember anything i did. When i was actualy playing he started to kill me. I need to start playing on instinct rather than me thinking about what to do next. I am so much better when i just play.

And Twin dreams i did find an extra controller in my bag when i got home, but it didn't have any tape on it. What color is the controller?

As for not realizing what you are doing while you are playing, I often find myself not exactly thinking persay, just willing. You don't think about your arm moving when you pick something up, but you will it. I don't think for Fox to u-air, my fingers move along automatically with my will. Playing this game is natural enough for me now, that I only have to concentrate on buttons if I'm doing something new. (I'm learning to pillar better, DJC, and new combos. That's what gets me.)


We are holding another tournament in December. It was going to be a three day event, however the only days that it could be for three days are 30,31, 1st. My gf and I were thinking a new years smash fest, but since people are saying they already have plans or have plans to make plans (??) I can either keep it three days and move it up a day. Or have it be a two day again, and have it a few week before the whole holiday thing. Majority rules.


Also, tell me what you all think right away. I can enter Gideon's contest.

Well, the tournament will take place on the first two days. (Depending on entrants, could be just one day) Any time after that would be friendlies. My gf and I are holding a new year's eve party there, so I figured just to leave the tournament set up and allow friendlies all night. You all sure can go home after the tournament is over.

I'm changing the way the fee will be handled this time as well. I'm not quite sure how much, but whoever enters the tournament spends the night for free.


For a three day event, it would have to be 30, 31, and 1st. Otherwise, the proprietor would have to be out 4 nights in a row. I don't think that's fair to her.

If you think about, I'm holding a two day tournament event with a new year's eve party right after.
