This past weekend at Baltimore, Maryland, was Otakon 2006. Besides the anime and cosplay, there was videogame. There was a tournament for smash singles and smash free-for-all. The winner and runner up are as followed:

Free for all-- 1st: SS4 Ricky (I think....not completely sure) and 2nd: Yuna (again, not very sure)
Singles-- 1st: Yuna and 2nd: Sadaharu Inui

Very, very fun! I did well in my singles match. I four stocked my first opponent, a lightblue falco:chuckle: . I also won my next match against a Samus. The competition was not very tough, but the people were very friendly. Was anyone else there?

Ricky is too good. I got knocked out of the first FFA round thanks to him and I was the 65th person in line for the 1v1s (sucked major assage). I spent some time playing random ffas on friday and saturday and some halo. Smash tournaments are great but the ones at otakon only seemed to take time away from other stuff going on. I had a blast playing halo 2 on lan again yet there were no tournaments for the game this year.

Overall, Otakon was fun as isht

*shout out to Ricky and VooDoo*- hope to play with you guys again sometime soon.

I was there and Just random play watching Ricky 2 vs 2 was incredible. Mewtwo & Pikachu vs was incredible, hahah. I was Dr. Mario all of the time, I'm trying to start playing more and getting better. If anyone saw me there please gimme some harsh criticism or some shoutouts if ya think I had potential ;-). Congrats 2 you guys on doing great in the tournaments.

Gay smashers took singles. Haha.

Yuna and I were undefeated in teams. <3

I didn't even make it in time for the tournament since people lined up so early. I'm still satisfied though because I got to play Yuna, Inui, Voodoo and Kaiser GL. I lost to all of them but the ones that were me(Samus) vs. Inui(Sheik) and me(Samus) vs. Voodoo(Captain Falcon) were really fun matches in my opinion. PC Chris was there but I didn't get to play him , and there was some other guy who was really good with Yoshi there too, but I have no idea who he was though.

I thinks it's safe to say that after my preformance this year at Otakon I was among the top 25 players there. On Friday I won a few FFA matches on the TV next to the TV pointing at the main doors. Later on that same TV my partner and I won about 5 Team matches in a row (Since my partner wasn't so good, in the first 4 matches I ended up going 2 on 1 at the end of each of them). On Saturday (on the same TV again) I won about 20 FFA matches in a row and people seemed really impressed with my Samus. Later I moved the the TV that was facing the main doors and lined up for some 1v1 matches. I lost to Yuna and then Inui. After they left to go do something else, Voodoo took their spot in he winners' chair and owned a few ppl untill this guy who used Link beat him. I played the Link user shortly afterwards and beat him, and then after that I had about 6 wins in a row. Then the guy who uses Yoshi showed up and beat me with his Falco (I shouldn't have lost against his Falco). After all of that I got in line a few more times and lost to Inui again and Voodoo later on. I think I did good since this was my first occasion fighting people who use advanced techniques (wavedashing, SHFFL ect.).

Yeah, most of the known players just alternated with each other to avoid the lines. XD

I'd win a few, then let Yuna win a few, and so on and so forth. Voodoo joined in this one of the days. :p

You're that agressive Samus that almost beat me in one match, right? Your Samus is so agressive. Most Samus's camp with missles, or crouch cancel a lot, or just play more patiently, but you bum rushed me like crazy. Fun stuff. =P Top 25 players there? Nah. You were like the 8th best player there since everyone sucked.

Nobody else was good enough for me to remember or I just didn't play them.

I love how so many people are saying "omfg you lost to Yuna, you suck, i four/threestocked Yuna at so and so tourny and he sux blah blah blah" and "i heard Yuna sucked, how'd you lose?" to me.

STFU. I pwned Yuna at FC 6, but he got me back at Otakon. He got a LOT better, especially vs Sheik, I noticed.

Yuna's a beast now and is going to go back to Europe and dominate. Kthx.

Yeah, Yuna is definitely a lot better than before. At anaheim he wasn't that great, now he's getting a lot better.

Wow, first of all Ricky is way better than you, and there's no way Kaiser's on the same level as you, he's much better than you as well.

I also like how you act like the grammar police in other threads and still make grammar mistakes yourself frequently ("Yuna's a beast now and is going to go back to Europe and dominate"). Yeah, you're just not that good overall at anything.

who was the Kid who crossed his legs too awkwardly far while he played?

There were not enough tvs for smash and the tournaments were not very organized. Hopefully anyone that wanted to play got a chance to play. The people that participated in the tournaments were the first to wait in line. In other words, first come, first serve. I think the prizes for first and second places were gift cards to Bestbuy.

I'm sorry we never got to team up like we planned @ Inui. I had to leave right when we decided to team up, and I was too late on Sunday. Maybe next year...

There is no doubt, Yuna is pretty good at SSBM, and you say he's gotten better. So, has he improved as a person, or is he still not paying on MMs?

Sadaharu Inui
08-11-2006, 06:34 PM
Yeah, I wanted to team with you for a bit since Samus is a beast at teams and you weren't a scrub.

@ CaptainAwesome: I don't know, he didn't MM anyone there.

Ran into a peach 3rd round and ended my run, though i did have nice casual match runs with my Yellow Yoshi. Quite a few hour plus straight runs. Repping yoshi one con at a time =)

....there's a results thread? I just posted my shoutouts on the topic...oh well.

yeah cool beans and all but i had to stop that s*** quick, i don't even care. you lose, you get to the back of the line. i don't care if you're yuna, PC, or azen, i'm kicking you off. my friends were mad pissed about that and while i'm cool and all with smash in general i'm not about to let top people stay in just because their good. give up the controller.

ALSO.....i lost against a yoshi. he was pretty good, knew his stuff, it was battlefield and i suicided. no johns, no worries. i wanted to see more of the con anyways. but hell if i care about a singles tourney that yuna gets away with paying his way back into after losing his first match. Single elimination. WTF is that s***.

but it's cool, i enjoyed otakon. Now for shoutouts:

Yuna- good matches, i have alot of peach pratice so i know my stuff. you're peach was mad fast though. Me+parasols=deadly :D
Inui- one FFA match is all we got? dude we need to play some 1v1. i'll gladly accept that sheik vs link match.
Vist- waaaahhh!! vist! it's been forever! you still got the fire, keep it rolling.
Oro- oro you're a cool guy, you shouldn't quit smash. probably one of my most heated FFA matches that con.
Bach- it was cool chillin with you at the tourney, haven't seen you in forever man.
Voodoo- it was fun hanging out with you. didn't get any matches with you though.

and there's probbly a good amount of other people there that i missed. sorry guys! Until next anime con.

But we never lost and stayed on. We didn't lose. o_o; And in the rare occasions that we did, we got up and moved back.

Yeah, sadly. And we all know how meaningful FFA's are. XD

I'll play with you any time I can. Your Link's the best I've seen.

That Yoshi player is one of my friends from NJ, I dont think he has any nicks or **** yet, haha. I didn't get to play cause the line was way too early. Also once I get into the video game room I would stay in there too much.

Hey Guys, My friend Treble made me aware of this thread. I figured i'd post and get my name out there. I"m that "falco and yoshi player from the west" lol. The one you played SS4R, Ricky man you have a naaaaaaaaaasty link, I had a lot of fun playing it. I'd love to play everyone i played again with real controllers lol. Eggm = Egg Master as i've been told i am by many people many times, thats the tag I normally use in tournys and what not. Well thats about it, happy smashing, look foward to seeing you all at the next otakon maybe tearing you all up in brawl with yoshi? :)

And when yuna lost he cut in front of other people to play again. He did it all weekend, and I should've just knocked his **** teeth out. I've said it. Yuna cut every line there was. To get into the tournys, to get BACK into the tournys, to keep playing all day at the stations. He lost a good number of free for alls. I was there, I watched a ****load of them, because I couldn't get to play, because you *******s kept hogging the station. And by that point I was too pissed and **** near ready to punch him in the mouth to go to another station, Yuna's a prick and doesn't deserve any praise. I'd rather play with people who are fun to play with, not *******s who only care about winning. This is the main reason Ricky is so awesome. He just doesn't care if he wins or loses, he just wants to have fun.

Call me a troll if you want, but this post is mostly so I can vocalize what I saw/experienced that weekend, and how I really, really don't like you or Yuna.

Also: Hey Ricky, we should smash sometime this week at Chris' house, since aimee is out of town. Call or something. <3

****, I can't seem to edit my other post. It just times out... so, whatever, double posting.

I see you're a real people person. Nevermind what I said, I realize you really are just an *******. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so.
