Tournament Results:
Halo Ce FFA:
1st -- Holy
2nd -- D1
3rd -- D2
4th -- Blaze
Blaze proved to be unstoppable at Rat Race FFA going 50-20 with several assists. Last time he grabbed a Top 4 FFA finish was the very first MGA Event back in April.
Holy came out over D1 in the 1v1 at Wizard. Holy this time showed us a more defensive 1v1 style since his aggresive 1v1 style got shattered by Sin at the last Event.
Halo Ce 2v2:
1st -- Team BnB
2nd -- Team InS
About two weeks ago Team InS met up with Team BnB for a few Money Matches. Team InS won those matches and had high hopes for winning this event. However, in the finals Team BnB made a stunning 3-0 sweep on Team InS. In the Finals BnB proved that MGA Events are the only thing that matter.
SSBM 1v1:
1st -- Rob A
2nd -- Zozefup
3rd/4th -- Joeology
3rd/4th -- Coo Too Tim
Rob A had a tough time tonight with several close calls due to suicides. Coo Too Tim v Rob A in the semifinals went to a 3rd and very close game. Zozefup v Rob A in the finals went to a 5th game ending well in Rob A's favor at Mute City.
Zozefup had a pretty good night. He managed to take 2nd for 2 consecitive wins over Joeology (#2). This could actually bring him up to the #2 rank in The MGA.
Joeology had a unfocused night tonight. Joe seemed to be struggling with opponents and characters he, in the past MGA Events, has sliced through.
Coo Too Tim had a great night. He destroyed the competition and nearly took out the MGA 1v1 Titan Rob A. Coo Too Tim has said to be training vigorously with Fox. This can easily been seen on how well he did tonight.
SSBM 2v2:
1st -- Team JsF
2nd -- Team Jast
Fairly the same story as the last event. Team JsF, in the end, just came out the stronger team. We did have three new teams sign up so maybe we will see one of these teams drop a rank or two.
Halo 2 FFA:
1st -- Nemo
2nd -- Holy
3rd/4th -- WillHam
3rd/4th -- D1
Nemo came back strong since the last MGA Event. He ended up taking out Holy in the Finals, but the most intense match up was Nemo v WillHam in the semi-finals. Nemo took it 10-8 after a back spawn on WillHam.
Halo 2 2v2:
1st -- Team SnR
2nd -- Team AoN
The HUGE story about the Halo 2 2v2 is WHO IS Team AoN? These guys, Critic and Killa, came out of no where to take Top 2 in the Halo 2 2v2. We truely hope for and expect great things from this team.
DDR:
1st -- E-Man (McDonalds
2nd -- Jim H.
This was one of the more intense minor tournaments. McDonalds and Jim H seemed to donimate this game, however, in the finals E-man came out on top. We hope to see great things from DDR in the advancement of The MGA.
Guitar Hero:
1st -- Dylan "Abstract" S.
2nd -- Cody
This tournament seemed like it could be anyones game. But in the finals Abstract pulled away with the win over Cody due to a failed song. I personally believe this will become one of our biggest Minor Tournament within the next few months.
Poker: Texas Hold Em:
1st -- WillHam
2nd -- D1
3rd -- D2
4th -- Nemo
This was by far the best Minor Tournament of the night. In the finals with the Big blind up to $1 and small blind up to $.50 WillHam and D1 fought back and forth for each hand. Finally, both players started getting a little fidgety. D1 was dealt pocket Aces and WillHam was dealt a Jack and a 10 off suite. Both instantly went all in. Once both players cards were turned over the flop came. 10, 4, 6. Then came a 2. On the River another 10 popped out and everyone wen't crazy!
Overview:
We had a greeeat time. There was a good amount of people there. Roughly half were new commers to The MGA. We ended our tournaments a few minutes before 12am. Area 51 offered a great supply of hot food, candy, sodas, and much more. The all night LAN was a blast.
Things to look forward to:
We are looking at making the Prizes higher. We are, also, looking to give out cash to 2nd place, and maybe 3rd place for the 2v2s. Look for alot more people and more competition in July.
