Do you think the characters moves have improved? Perhaps some of them have become stronger? And maybe some characters have completely been changed. Could you imagine if Bowser and Mewtwo were completely different and taken seriously?
You might say "no way!" But they DID change some of the characters from Smash Bros to Smash Bros Melee.

I'm willing to bet that almost every character has different effects with their moves and also that some of the best characters could become some of the worst and visa versa. You'll never know untill it comes out though.

i hope they do special attacks for team mode
you know, like in super mario rpg, the weapon where bowser would pick up mario and throw him.
i think they should do something like that.

I think the Wii's ability to freely manuver on the screen will definitely add some aspects to the game. One point to mention: Throws. Characters might be able to throw others in ANY direction! All 360 degrees of goodness could be obtained! Think about it! But that's just my thought about it. (Koopa Klaw for Boozer= more options with Wii :D )
Here's a question.....Is Game and Watch back in this one?

I dont think so. The engine is relatively the same. All they did was add higher resolution textures to the characters. And the moves looked EXACTLY the same as they are now.
That's probably what they did at this point, as they've hardly begun work on the actual game as of yet. The trailer, so far, is the most they've achieved. That's why there's so much potential for any 1st or otherwise party character at this point: Brawl is still very much a clean slate.

*High five* I want Ness, Kirby and Pikachu back to their former glory.
Mewtwo should actually WEIGH as if he were really 280lbs (which he is) rather
than simple controlling that way. And Bowser is lighter than Falco to knock off the top. Why?
Fastfalling should in no way account for updeaths. Bowser should be immune to weak hits at low % (as if he were being hit by fox's blaster), and when crouched should retract into his shell and have his back function as a shield like Link's.
You know what guys, check my fixing the game thread.

You know you want to.

I really hope that by "rebuilding all characters from the ground up" Sakurai meant graphically, because it would SUCK to have to relearn all my best characters....

'Twould, but I think that means "adjusting" all the moves rather than coming up with
completely original movesets. But I just KNOW Sakurai's going to play with range and frame timing, so you might have to do a bit of recalculating before you land hits.

Where, there's that. But they also want to remake the characters to improve their aireal game. And I guess if they have any new ideas for old characters, they'll add those too.
I don't see any problem with 'relearning' characters. This is a new game, after all.

yes, I'd rather have a new game with new feels to the characters than keep playing the same way I did for years with Melee, I don't want them to be vastly different, just enough to be fresh

How can we know that if the games hasn't even released yet??
But i wouldn't mind a few move adjustments.A new Fair for Mario would be nice and also a new Usmash for Marth(If he makes the cut).
*edit* Off the subject, how did 5150 get perma-banned??ouch..

I would probubly shed a tear for the shine if I lost it, two if I also lost my wavedash, and I would probubly throw the game out the window if I lost Fox completely.

The original 12 are more than likely returning.I'd be kinda pissed if i lost Marth.

I feel the same way. But in terms of changing moves I think they should give Fox a different F-air. His current one sucks. I liked the one he had in 64 a whole lot better.
