i dunno how i feel about the inclusion of snake. he's my favorite game character but not sure how he belongs in smash. especially with the current trend in a more serious tone in mgs4. my largest concern is that he be not made into the next sheik.

Leon from RE4 could show up since RE4 was Nintendo exclusive for a while, but practically any character is up in the air right now.

I woudln't say practially any character. They still have to have enough popularity and classicity [if that's a word]. Snake, after MGS 4 is going to retire, but the legend of Snake is going to live on through Smash. That's really what Smash has always been about. Taking Legends, living or dead, and pwning them into eachother.

And i don't think Snake's shield will be the cardboard box. If anything it will be his custom entrance. There would have to be too many frames of standing up and crouching for the box to be used in the heat of battle. It just doesn't make logical sense.

well metal gear solid is my favorite game series of all time, however, as much as I will lopve to play whit snake, it feels weid since he is not a nintendo character...and well the new MGS games will be on sony consoles not in nintendos :(

I would not be surprised at all if the likes of Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine would appear. Snake appearing in Brawl proves they are breaking many boundaries. This is a BRAWL, and it's a brawl of video game characters... It isn't just Nintendo involved now. Think BIG.

Anyone play Hudson's DreamMix TV World Fighters on Japanese PS2 and GC? It was a Smash clone and not a very good one, but it did have awesome characters such as Simon Belmont, Optimus Prime (and Megatron), Bomberman, Yugo from Bloody Roar, and yes, Solid Snake amongst others. His special was to lay C4 with the press of a button, which would detonate when stepped on or could be detonated by remote at any time. Crazy zoning and lockdown with that shiz, so if they base him of that incarnation, then Snake for god tier!

Get with the times. Nintendo is broadening their horizons. This is a video game character brawl that brings in many personalities! Third-party characters will be joining, no doubt. This proves that Nintendo's style isn't stale and that they take risks---good ones, at that.

What do yall think Snakes moves will be? I'm really puzzled on an UpB move....But I'm thinking he'll have a rocket for a projectile, and proximity mines, and a chafe grenade move, and the box move (lol). And he'll prolly be like the best at grabbing, and able to walk around while holding his opponent, and maybe put em to sleep. And he'll smoke a cigarrette for his taunt.

I'm just wondering if Snake will have his own stage. If so it would be one of the most outstanding stages in Smash.

But what could it possibly be. Riding aboard Metal Gear. FD from MGS2 [with Metal Gears inthe background. The tanker? For some reason I can't think of any part of MGS original that would fit.

I'm thinking Big Shell would be a possible stage for Snake. Also, what would his character icon be?

Btw, Snake is in the game because it was a request from Kojima himself:
"Kojima begged Sakurai to include Snake in the GameCube version of Smash Bros., but it was too late in the development cycle to add the character. When Brawl became a reality, Sakurai contacted Kojima and the decision was made to introduce Snake into the series. Solid Snake will use explosives ... and a cardboard box."

Mewwto has so much potential to be broken but he sucks- afterall he's a psychic pokemon who can control people's thoughts. Hehe. I think it's up to Nintendo how good they want to make him :)

EDIT: Snake started with the MSX, not Nintendo. The Nintendo version of Metal Gear was pretty off, compared to the original MSX one.
