Nintendo has already unveiled Pit, Phazon suit Samus, Metanight, Wario and..Solid Snake as new characters. But Nintendo would never reveil all of the characters right away.

What moves could these new players bring to the field?

I'm waiting on a KRool announcement...

But as far as things go with Konami, is it possible that Snake would be the only Konami character? I can't think of too many other useable characters right now, other than the 400+ Suikoden characters that would almost definitely not make an appearance. We can rule out Gradius as well.

KRool, havent even thought of that!!! Bowser clone anyone? And Diddy Kong is needed, along with Geno, Mallow, Sonic & Tails (Iceclimber clone) Knuckles, Samurai Goroh, Oni-Link (Feirce Deity Mask), and so many more.

I'm mad I didn't see anything about anyone from starwolf's team, that's all I really wanted, now i'm still guessing. I figure if they put in snake, they'll have to have wolf or leon. also, WOW, pit looks awsome! If wolf isn't in there though, link better be able to transform...Wiiiiiii

I'd wager on her being an entirely new character Osco, she's shown in one screen with her handheld blaster that she had in Zero Mission.

And I don't know if any of this is actually ingame footage, but it's probably a good indication of it. Still if kirby has a cook move...it's definitely be some cool slapstick.

Screenshots have practically confirmed the use of "super special" moves. What moves could the new characters have?

They could go with any of the belmonts, or even Soma Cruz or Alucard. But that's still just speculation. If Kojima had to "beg" Sakurai to put in Snake as a char, other characters seem less likely.

In reference to the super-moves, my geuss is that they'd be character-unique and spurred by a special super item.

I'm really liking the screen of the Kirby cook attack. It's one of the best things (besides Meta Knight) I've seen from this game (since I never played Kid Icarus nor an MGS game). Hopefully we'll get some new info on it soon so we don't keep repeating the same old **** over and over.

KRool is Nintendo through and through. Hence why he has a trophy. For Banjo & Kazooie and Conkers to be in it, Rare would have to approach Nintendo on the issue. Which is a non-issue because of their whole being-owned-by-Microsoft thing.

I must say I'm counting the seconds until this topic digresses to 100+ pages of random character speculation like the previous topic. Chaos.

Anyhow, I must say I am very impressed with the fact that only five new characters have been seen so far. Its been my observation that Nintendo (with the notable exception of the Wii controller) has a tendency to reveal its cards too early. That means good hype now, but no surprises later. Frankly I'd love to see Nintendo slowly release the primary characters/info leading up to the release of the game, while still keeping any and all unlockable characters, arenas, ect. a secret right up until release date.

As far as the new characters themselves go, the only surprise for me was Snake. Not a huge Metal Gear fan, and I'm hoping he lends himself well to this very different sort of game. Wario and Pit were pretty close to being givens, though I am very surpised that Olimar wasn't in the list, as he seemed like the next logical one after Pit. I am also surprised that Meta Knight is being revealed so early. With as many people commenting about wanting him in the game as there were, I figured he'd make the cut, but being released so early means he'll probably be a primary character, rather than an unlockable. I would have thought they would draw from new franchises first for the primary characters, then draw from already used franchises for the unlockables, but I suppose with Zelda/Sheik, Bowser, and Peach as primary characters in Melee, I shouldn't be all that surprised.

As far as the limited info on returning characters, I have two things to say. The first is that I am wondering if anyone else think that Link looks suspiciously like his TP rendition? Secondly, I am wondering if Samus will now function like Zelda/Sheik with a transeformation element. Seems like a waste to have two Samuses in the starting lineup, and I doubt they're going to get rid of that old busted Chozo outfit...

In any case, a measure of my faith in Nintendo has been restored. Here's to hoping it only gets better from here.

Metanight seems like one of those hard to knock off the map characters, seemingly by looking at all his armor plus he has wings(Take hint!). He looks badass. Look for Wario to be a powerhouse.

I hope Alucard or Soma Cruz make it into this game. The same goes for Ike from Fire Emblem 9, and maybe a few girls from the Fire Emblem series.

Dude, Sephiroth would be the ultimate character of destruction there. Now the reality check is, there will be no FF characters, still though, it'd be sweet. I don't see why Sonic hasn't been announced yet, I mean come on! The furr-ball fits right in.

Why it is possible that there will be FF characters. Square is a 3rd party for Nintendo again.

Not saiyng it'll happen, but it is possible. (Plus that wuold kick *** if they got Geno and Mallow from Super Mario RPG)

agreed Omni. I alos notice that Kirby's moves look completely unchanged. I see the aerial hammer, the upB, the nair, and the usmash. Good news for melee veterans as they probably won't have to relearn their characters.

Maybe I'm looking to deeply into the trailer but...

The trailer shows all of the characters performing their moves quite similar to their GC counterparts. The scene that shows both Metaknight and Pit flying and attacking each other hasd gotten my hopes up.

Diddy Kong is necessitated. Geno, Mallow, would be nice, but probably not likely. Sonic and Tails seem necessary too.

If MetaKnight's a Kirby clone, I would not like that. It doesn't seem like it from the vids, but who knows...

But who woulda thunk Pit would have his bow turn into blades And a propellor for his moves. Still, I'm thinking by his range to size ratio as seen in the vid, he'll probably hover around mid tier. D***. Well maybe he'll still have some hidden potential like Yoshi.
