Ok so we're trying to get some of the Canada community at FC6, most rules are written in the other thread stated above. I'd like you to go to http://www.meleefc.com/ and download the information Packet (on the right).

To keep it simple, we're hosted in a church and the tournament takes place in a gym. The cost is 75$ US or 85 $ CAD, we're hosted for two days and get 7 meal and it let you participate in all tournament type. Under 18 will need a parent or guardian to register you up. You'll also need a credit card (I'd recommend paying with paypal though)

So first of all I'd like you guys to stop in and tell me if you are coming so we can get a list of who's going. Include if you can drive (no such thing as I will get it soon, I don't care. once you get it you can still tell me so I can update), if you have a credit card and if you have a car. On a side note I'm afraid I can't make registrations for everyone, you'll need to deal with that. I'd like the car's info (year, Total KM or miles...) If your car's perfect except something like a battery or I dunno what, I'll gladly ask my father to find you a deal, and maybe even put the stuff on. (he works in auto part and repairs car, he doesn't touch advanced stuff though)

Rules for tagging in: No alcohol, no drug of any kind. Not that I hate it but its a rule in the tournament and also it would make it harder to pass through customs we could even get busted and turned back so just no such thing please. No last minute cancel, once it settled and you are in a car with some driver, especially if you are a driver and the only other drive among the other four. If it does happen we're going to kill you in your sleep and steal your part of gaz.

You should bring: your controller, hygiene stuff, something to sleep on and something to sleep with. maybe those holy grounds are cold or something

In car it should take about 16 hours, and cost about 40-50$(80$-100$ for the whole trip) per person in a car of 5 for gaz. I doubt there's a bus driver out there willing to drive for 16 hours. anyway bus rental for 16 hours should be ****ing expensive. Renting a winnebago seems like a weird Idea since it will cost alot, gaz wise and rental wise and probably won't be big enough for everyone. Plane is out of subject please. unless you are a richy boy.

so lets get this start, come in if you have an idea... I'm gonna do some research for transportation and see if we could get any better deal.

I'll update it as needed and once I get the time for it. sorry for the lack of time, but obviously someone had to start this. No trashtalking and or useless post please (its only to make it easier for me)

I would like to go, but I don't really know how to get there. I was just wondering how others are going before I even ask my parents, because it would go like this:

Me: Can do go to FC6?
Them: How would you get there?
Me: brb

I am just saving some time to find out how I can get there. It is about 719.7 km with an approximate travel time of 7 hours 24 mins according to yahoo maps.

I am willing to take bus, but I have no idea what is the best service (grayhound?).

16 hours is for people near Mtl and yea it would be nice to list aprox how much time it would take for each region.

All of those people I just mentioned are not 100%, I doubt anyone is. We're all looking into it.

Go to the bus terminal in Toronto (Union Station?). Digamma checked, there is a bus going to Indiana, leaving at 1:15 AM, IIRC. We would get there around 12-1 PM, Indiana time. It would take 11 hours, so you could sleep on the bus or just **** around on it. We plan to **** around :P (all night DS anyone?)

Then we'd have to get to the venue. We would come back the same way.

your sleeping 2 days over, and you should DEFINITLY bring clothes, hygiene stuff, pillow, sleeping bag, (unless you sleep in all your clothes like me)

Okay, turns out that the bus ride would actually be more like 22 hours. I got this from Greyhound.com:

Leave Toronto at 8:30 AM, arrive in Indianapolis at 7: 25 AM. Leave the 12th, arrive the 13th, for the slow ones. It does not state the price. There are other times, but it is the same thing.

Depart July 12th, Toronto, 08:30am -> Arrive July 13th, Indianapolis, 07:25am 22h, 55m 2 GLC 2111

Depart July 12th, Toronto, 12:30pm -> Arrive July 13th, Indianapolis, 07:25am 18h, 55m 1 GLC 0367

Depart July 12th, Toronto, 6:30pm -> Arrive July 13th, Indianapolis, 12:40pm 18h, 10m

Look for a South Bend stop on the Greyhound site. Greyhound is a good way to go - Prime and I took a bus 18 hours to MLG once, and it actually went pretty quickly with lots of Gameboy and sleep. Much cheaper than a plane, too.

We would love to see a Canadian Crew show up at FC6! Let me or KishPrime know if we can be of assistance.

I'm seriously considering going to this; OC2 would be crazy expensive, so FC6 is preferable for me. Has everyone decided on taking the bus at this point? I would like to know what everyone else's plans are :) If most people are taking the bus, I'll probably go down to Toronto the day before and meet up with you guys somewhere.

Ok, it seems that I am actually able to come to this, has anyone took a good look at the buses yet?

Ok, for all you Toronto-ish people, there is a bus that leaves Toronto at 1am on the 13th, and arrives at South Bend Airport at 1:20pm. It costs $89.10, 178.20$ for a return trip (which leaves at 9:10pm on the 15th, not too sure about that timing).

I am close to booking this stuff, because I need to fly out from Indiana for family reasons. But because nobody from my crew is coming, I'd at least like to know if any Ontario smashers are going to be there before I go ahead.

Well, we have a roster page available if you're curious about who is coming. Unfortunately, due to the fact that not many have paid, it isn't very extensive yet. Just keep an eye on it and I think you'll get an idea of who all is coming. People will likely start paying in a few weeks. It's only a month and a half away!

Hopefully you Canadians come out in enough force to form a Regional Crew! We want to see you guys come out!

Squared: In one of the really really old posts in this thread, you mentioned that the South Bend bus stop is 20 minutes from the tourney site. I'm assuming that you mean a 20 minute drive, so we'd still need to get to the church after that. Would it be possible to get someone to pick us up from the bus stop? If not, is there some kind of local bus or something we could take to get there?

Yeah, the bus stops at the South Bend Regional Airport, actually. We'll be providing rides to the church for both flyers and bussers.

As for registration cost, it doesn't go up unless you pay at the door. If you register before July 13th (and pay online or via mail), cost remains unchanged. We don't do it to be mean, we do it so we'll know our numbers as much as possible in advanced. Look at it this way - you get a $25 discount by signing up online ^_^
