Aww when I go to Ireland I usually stay near South Tipp ._.(Not even in town like 2 miles away LOL)

My cousins live in the suburbs of Dublin and I doubt I could make any tourney even when i am over during the summer.

There's a chance that I'm going to Europe with my dad and my sister this summer. If you guys could somehow schedule a tournament to coincide with my trip, once I know more details about it, I would love you guys forever and ever. I'll keep you updated.

This belongs in the Regional sections, though.

I just found the date for the tournament its the 26th of may in UCD in clonskeagh any one who is interested just send me a private message or post on this thread.Oro even if there is no tournament when your in Ireland we can easily get a nice smashfest(s) going cuz everyone who plays with me lives really close together so it would be easy to organise and we would love to play you and show you our skills.(or get skooled by you!)

I live down south, so I could probably come up quite easily if I had nothing else planned.

And maybe bring a friend or two...

Hi guys, I'm one of the organisers of this tournament, I found this thread through boards.ie. It's going to be held in UCD's student centre (how to get to UCD (http://www.ucd.ie/gettingtoucd.htm) and the student cnetre is building 17 in this map (http://www.ucd.ie/images/subpage/maps/campusmap05.jpg)), on Friday 26th of June from about 12noon until 6pm. There might be a prize, it depends. The Halo event is the main crowd puller and most prizes will be going there. This contest is being held for charity, so you can get a warm fuzzy feeling by going. :) Hope to see you all there.

There you have it and Smash is better than Halo period.

Pikaville dude, after checking out the details on that boards.ie topic, I'm going to have to call bullcrap on you.

This isn't "The 1st Official Irish Smash tournament", this is a fundraiser for Africa, of which the primary draw is a Halo tournament with prizes.

The Smash thing seems to be a rather secondary concern for everyone. There are no prizes.

Also, since this was all rather low-key and it was INCREADIBILY difficult to find any details about the whole thing, I don't think you'll be able to call the winner "The best Smash player in Ireland".

Even the fact it's on at 2pm on Friday means that no-one else outside of Dublin who has work, school or college would be able to attend. "The best player in UCD" maybe, but not the whole country.

I'm not complaining, I always look forward to playing a bit of Smash, especially on projectors, but you shouldn't be making this out to be something its not.

And this is clearly not the "1st Official Irish Smash Tournament Ever!".

Yeah, it's not an offical contest or anything, I don't know how that started. Yes, this is a fundraiser for Africa, it's supposed to be mainly for fun. It is mainly aimed at UCD students. Most UCD students are finished by Friday.

And this is no a secondary concern. I'm a Smash man myself, none of this Halo ****e. Though to be fair, our goal to to raise money, so we have Halo for the masses. Remember it's all supposed to be for fun.

I am very much in favour of the Smash, it's just the crazy exaggeration I have an issue with.

If you're kicking a ball around with some friends, Pikaville, you don't call it "The All Ireland Final".

An accurate and honest thread starting post would have been:

"Smash at UCD!"

We're gonna be playing some Smash up in UCD on projectors to raise money for charity, it should be good fun, so come along if you want.

I'm looking forward to the day when there will be an official tournament in Ireland, if ever. But this certainly isn't it.

Yeah, I agree it is a bit overblown. But then again, how often are there smash contests in Ireland? I know it's not an offical contest, but do Nintendo do offical SSBM contests?

Yeah it doesnt cost that much to get a flight across to the UK and i guarantee you get a higher level of smash players playing in the UK than in Ireland guys, Kone's above post seconded!!!
