video question/vid wont work

i shot some shots with my digital camera in movie mode...i uploaded it on the computer but when i tried to edit it with movie maker or any other editing programs....but it keeps saying the vids are not valid sources, or something like that. i even tried converting it to dvd format but that program wont even accept my vids

I'm guessing the vids you shot are either an mpeg or quicktime stream. If they are mpegs, try using this program to change them into a readable avi file: http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/stable/VirtualDub-MPEG2.zip (the real virtual dub doesn't support mpeg streams either, but this one is edited so it can.)

If they're quicktime files (.mov) and you can't import them, follow this guide:

RAD software is cool, I like effective, simple GUI programs like it.

If none of this helps, specify the kind of files they are (.wmv, .avi, .mov, .mpeg, etc)
