Possible New Doc Technique Discovered!

I am currently working on a video that depicts all of the cool tricks you can do with Dr.Mario. In training mode, I was just screwing around, trying to find things that aroused my interest, and that I did.

Remember how you can run towards the edge and taunt, and it cancels immediately? Well, what I did was run towards the edge, taunt (it cancelled), turned around instantly, and attacked, just like a pivot cancel, only flashier due to the first few frames of the taunt that sometimes sneak in there. So, what basically happens is Doc runs towards the edge, taunts, cancels the taunt and pivots, attacking immediately. Has this already been discovered?

Sounds new to me. Then again, I am not much of a Doc player. Sounds interesting, I will try this out soon.

EDIT : Looks cool... but I don't know about its' uses. Just showing it off it pretty sweet, I like that the pill shows up then cancels though.

Isn't all your momentum lost when you stop at the edge? Thus you are just turning around as if you were standing..

i've used this before, but my friends always seem to counter it, so i usually use a cc to pivot. then again, against players that don't know ur style well, this comes in handy as a mindgame.

The taunt cancel was already known, and I cant really see any use in this other than looking stylish, which is the best part about Doc. I've used this before, but mostly when I've already killed my opponent and want to brag. Just ledge cancel the taunt, wd back while mixing in up-b cancels. :chuckle:

well you can really do that with anyone as long as you run up to the edge, because when you are teetering off the egde, it acts like if you are a neutral position, and you can do anymove our of it

Only Doc can cancel his taunt on the ledge. If it weren't for that, yes, any character can do this.

i never said anything about taunting... just running up to the ledge
