A Smash tournament in London anyone?

Hey people, I want to interest some people here.

Who would like a Smash tournament in London?
I am a bit of a noob at hosting tournaments but if we have the players and the aide of everyone, i'm sure we can do something.

There really isn't much point in starting a London thread. As ive stated I can name all english known players and any new players can see theres a British thread and notice that theres already interest in getting a london tourney sorted.

Lets keep things to the british thread and when theres any real concrete info we can stick up a london tournament thread. Ain't no use having two seperate threads full of spam.

ps Theres been plenty of interest regarding smash tournaments in london. The problem is finding someone willing to find a venue, book venue and provide tvs. If anyone is willing to do so contact m on msn : ceddon@hotmail.com and ill help get things set up, give advice on running the tourney and contact people i know that would be interested in making it!

It would be still cool to have a specific London Tourny thread, but I will be willing to turn up for the tourny I will also be able to provide a GameCube I would be able to provide a TV but its a bit big for me to carry.

I can sort out picking you up with tv if you live within london itself and obv. the convenienc of doing so.

Theres no need in a thread until a venue and date is sorted. Then we can muster support and sort out tvs/cubes etc

Cool Euan but there isn't going to be any housing. If anyone is willing to house then id suspect english players would take first calls. Im currently looking to stay in my car or drive home early morning ie 1/2am with the newcastle crew :/

Maybe get a late train back? anyway no need in this till we have a venue. ANT! hehe

I'd like to attend some tournament in the UK, but I don't know when Kone's tournament is goint to be, cause I'd like to visit his the most. When is this tournament is going to be and how many foreigners are interested in going to London?

The tournament in london will be a small event with no housing benefits and a day only. It is intended to get players in and around london to their first tournament and obv. then get people interested in the english smash scene.

My tourney should be in may shoe, come to that ^_^

May I might be able to come, I'll probably be having an individual project at school at that time. Don't know about presentations and stuff yet so it'll depend on the date. If I come we must have a beermatch!! and no earthquakes.

I've been looking into venue's. I keep forgetting to phone early as most of the venue's close at 4pm weekdays.

Tomorrow I will phone all the halls in and around London that offer decent prices.

If , London peeps, your serious about playing we should meet up and play before the tournament. It will be good to know everyone's skill level and gain extra tips, new strats etc.

Edit: Also I have my eyes on a venue in Charlton, SE London. It's right near Charlton Athletic football ground. I know the guy that owns it so maybe this one will be easy. I'll keep y'all informed.

I'd go since I can fly directly to London from Stockholm with Ryanair ^__^.

Yuna: London and Taunton tournaments will be restricted to english players only. This is unless housing can be provided, which it currently cant.

These tournaments are designed to introduce new players into the scene. We'd prefer not to throw them into the deep end with lots of good players. Furthermore, its a day event, turnout is har dto predict and tvs will mainly be small.


Us English need tournamnets to practice aswell =x
