Hello everyone. I've been smashing for a while with my friends, and we smash a lot. Lately, I've noticed that my smashing skills have gone down compared to my buddies, which causes problems in 2v2 games, because I seem to let my team down a lot. I usually face a combination of Sheik-Samus or Sheik-Fox in 2v2. I usually play as Doc.

When I fight Fox, I constantly get smashed around a lot. For example, when I am descending from being juggled, I try to pull a down-a, but when I land, he simply up-smashes me to death. He also heavily spams the forward smash move, and I don't know how to approach him. The same goes for my friend's sheik game, who spams forward smash a lot, and likes to do his forward-a whenever I'm recovering from the edge, totally screwing me over. Basically, I can't find any ways to approach them easily without facing the risk of a smahs attack.

I've read a lot about the various techniques such as wavedashing, etc, but I cannot seem to pull these moves off consistantly during battle (although I can do them in practice versus a CPU). My current approaches as doc basically consists of an attempt at a short hop sex kick, rushing in, grabbing + downthrow + uptilt followup, or pillspam jumping in. Finally, at low percentages, I crouch cancel and spam the down smash move a lot to counter. I realize the back-aeriel move is powerful, but I can't seem to use it to edgeguard effectively without committing suicide. What's a doc to do?

Chain throws are the key here against fox since he's a fast faller. Also the ABA is useful besides edge guarding. Make no mistake, the SHABALD is a good move to pressure fox. When you attempt a grab crouch cancel the dash to loosen the lag. On edgeguarding if you sweetspot the ledge your best move is to probably let go and DJ plus WD on to the stage followed by a dsmash. Try practicing wavedashing until you can do it consistently. I don't know why you can't pull off a ABA to edgeguard I can only tell you to keep practicing your recovery. Instead of a SH sexkick use a SH ABA mind you the hitbox reaches a bit in front for a good combo at medium percentages. I'm sure Mealstrom can give you a good point as he is good with these types of scenarios.
