Doc a good secondary to falcon?

Whats up mario/doc players. I recently picked up falcon as my main, and hes turning out really well except for against falco/fox. I've been playing this match A LOT and i'm having major problems. I've been thinkin about pickin up Doc as a secondary for falcon against these characters; and I just wanted a second opinion. Thanks in advance! :lick:

Doc (and Mario) tend to rape fastfallers.

It's the combination of cape/b-air edgeguarding, u-throw chaingrabbing, and shffl'd u-air/u-tilt comboing that really does the trick against them, since the space animals tend to fall straight into those types of combos, which both Mario and Doc excel at.

So yeah, go ahead and choose Doc. He wrecks the space animals in general.

I agree with maelstrom, Doc makes a great secondary to Falcon.

doc is good against space ****ers but it might be a big difference coming from falcon to doc but if u have the patience it can really pay off... i did just about the same thing with marth since i was having trouble with my friends fox.... now he's peach so i guess that worked

No. If you run into a good Peach down the line you WILL have problems. I think Marth would be a better idea for a second. He can handle space animals and the occasional Peach.

Either that or, like, change tactics with the Doc. You know, whatever works.

doc can beat peach. On a big level(FD, corneria, etc) Doc wins. her jump is slow and you can pillspam most of the fight if you wanna be cheap. Outside that though, i think its an even matchup. You just have to be very cautious in your offenses and be sure to always land behind her when approaching. His Tilts outreach her too. and if you knock her off at low damage, snipe away her DJ w/ a b.air, and she's toast. D.throw to F.air is an easy KO too.
of course, peach has huge advantages of her own. All in all its a difficult fight for both, if Doc plays right.

If anything he holds his own, but someone really good w/ fox or falco SHOULD just outstat the doc player with shere speed, and ease of KOing. Grabbing them is extremely hard, and punished severely if you miss. As often as you can chain grab, to juggle to smash, they can do combos almost as good..but alot more often. and edgeguarding them isn't as easy as 1,2,Cape.
You have to have not just techincal combos, but really good mindgames to catch them off guard. If you can do that, though, its fair game.

No arguement, Doc is a ninja, though.

<.< Uhh Cyphus. By big stage I would exclude big sides. FD is alright but Dreamland 64 just lets Peach outlive you.

It isn't just that though. I find that the Marios WoP(so to speak, you know what I'm talking about), really messes up space animals too. It outprioritizes their NAir/DAir approach. Plus they have the cape to stop lasers. They have an easy edge guard against both space animals. All and all, they have more pros than cons in this match. I think this is Foxes hardest match in perticular. Marth and Falco and be dealt with if you are using Fox, in fact I consider both of those matches completely even(unless the Marth gets really gay with the chain grabing)... but the Marios totally mess up a Fox.

And I see what you are saying about Doc vs. Peach. It's just that I think there are better things out there for beating her(Marth). Beating Peach is important for Falcon, because that is one of his counters, the space animals being the others.
