Alright i've heard that Ganon is a counter for Samus but in what sense. Generally what should i be doing to attack a Samus player with Ganon. How do i use him effectively against her. I've been told that i'm good with Ganon and i seem to be able to beat most people with him except my friends Samus. Firstly he missle spams a lot but he's also an insane spot dodger. How can i fight against this?

Uhnn... Do you have any idea how many Ganon vs. Samus threads we've had in the past few days? Let alone in the history of the subforum? I will never understand why the concept of using the "search" button is so incredibly obscure to so many people. Here, to save you from the mind-numbingly difficult task of locating and clicking the button, I did it for you here. And guess what? I even went to the trouble of pasting a section out of the Ganon vs. sticky, hooray for you!

*Reverse uair, edge hog is a free stock on Samus once she has used her grapple.
*Gerudo punch can go past Samus' missiles (close shot missiles get you on occasion).
*Downthrow can lead to a lot of airs including double bairs (depending on DI and percent).
*CCing does not exist for Samus in this match up

EDIT: I just noticed your post count... You really have no excuse here, whatsoever :ohwell: .

Meh i probably should've searched cuz i haven't been at the Ganon and Falcon section for a while. Don't get pissed and chill the **** out!! People do this all the time and wheather it's someone with 800 posts or 80 it shouldn't make a difference. It happens all the time regardless of all the stickied threads are on the page. I was in a rush anyways :p

Anyways thanx for that help.

Sorry if I was a little harsh, but it's exactly the point that really people do do this all the time and that's what made me snap. But really, don't you think it would make sense to assume that someone with almost 1,000 posts would have more experience in navigating the forums to find what they need?

it's quite simple Samus is very easily beatable by the prince of darkness, whenever they "missle spam" :psycho: dude your neutral ground destroys missles! as does almost every other attack ganon does  you just need to destroy the missles watch for fully charged big blasts and use ganons forward and back airals and you should be alright my friends play a lot of samus and i do really well against them, it's simple once you realize the missles are nothing.

sorry :P didn't mean to double post

but since i did.. if this were to say trouble with Sheik i could give you a lot of tips but with Samus¿ Nah.. you've got nothing to worry about so long you destroy the stupid missles and use your air attacks a lot

My problem isn't mainly the missle spam and i know Nair cancels out missles. He spams when i get close to him and forces me to back off. I'm aggressive so i like to get in his face with Ganon. Unfortuneatly he spot dodges then missles me. That's my problem not spamming in general but this kind of specific spamming.

well if he's going to missle you in the face shield grab him lol missles have very little effect on ganon what you need to look out for is that STUPID down smash of hers it sets ganon up perfectly for her big blast.

if you got any vids it'd help me understand what your saying better :embarrass

But don't you see? It's the close range missile spam that's the easiest to punish. Whenever he goes to shoot a missile, just hop over it and give her a nice big helping of Ganon's fair. Or, if that's not fast enough, slip under it with your f-b. I really find it hard to believe that Samus has enough time to spot dodge and then missile you, unless you're not l-canceling (which would cause you a whole world of problems). As far as canceling the missiles, I think people get a little too caught up with the thunder punch (neutral ground) cancel. If you're trying to be aggressive, I've found f-tilting or dash attacking the missles is more effective for staying up close. Just charge straight at her if she's spamming, dash attacking each missile until your close enough to punish with a SH fair or f-b.

this match goes both ways IMO.

its mostly stage-dependent (wide stages make it harder for Samus to die and smaller ones make it hard for her to run and spam). I play this match with my next door neighbor everyday (for almost a year now) and Samus definitely has some nasty things on ganon, like easy edgeguarding, and she can follow up really easy. It also isn't hard for Samus to drive Ganon to the edge since almost all her attacks knock enemies horizontally and can easily be followed up by a blast or missile depending on damage. Samus also has a tricky and hard-to-stop recovery. Speaking of recovery, bombs are a b**ch to deal with as well because none of Ganny's attacks can get through those

best thing to do is play it slow and boring on wider stages. Camping is real gay but thats about the only way you can beat it. On small stages (YS, for example) just attack and wail on her so she cant spam. Just play smart.

This game takes a lot of patience. From my experience, you can't just rush in and attack. You have to hop around a lot, dodging missiles and gaining ground, and use the double jump only when he comes at you for an attack. Punish him when he screws up.

Destroy missiles, or just go past them as already stated...

Thunder drop the platform if he is under it trying to spam missiles. The thunder drop(Dair) will go through the platform and hit him (disjointed hitbox) where you can Fair or Uair him. If he starts intercepting you with his Uair, you can outreach him, just make sure not to fast fall it into his reach.

If he grapples, and you have the time, I like to thunder drop him as he gets pulled up by the grapple. Bair is a pretty good edge gaurd as well as uair.

SHffl uair's because they are fast. Try to stay away from the Fair because it has punishable lag. Use it more to intercept him while he is in the air.

Obviously use the wizard foot to regain double jumps when ever possible. Learn to sweet spot really well. And just remember to be patient.

Get under samus and exploit her slow d-air with Ganons fast u-airs. Just work that weakness, because IMO is the best spot to start all attacks on her. If your opponent is spot dodging alot I like to SH a d-air. Dont FF it becauase it has strange timeing and will punish spot dodgers in thier cooldown lag.

Hey guys!!!! Did you know that Ganon's Gerudo punch can even destroy Shadow Ball and a supercharged blast from Samus. All you have to do is time it right. If you do it, like I do quite a lot, it's accompanied by a sound of thunder and lightning in the background. It's really cool.
