View Full Version : Capture Problems
I've been having a lot of difficulties recording matches on my computer using what seems to be a "capture card" It's called a DVD express and i have the connections eshtablished to connect the gamecube to the computer. It works just fine but there is a huge lag from what i do with the controller and what appears on the computer screen while i'm playing.
How do i stop the lag so i can play properly? I tried hooking up a TV to let me watch and record what happens on the TV but it didn't work. I am completely lost and i need help. If not i have to return my "capture device" and see if i can do something else. Please help me :(

I think what you're supposed to do is record your match onto a VHS or DVD, and then play that back into the capture card.
Yeah i'm pretty sure that's what you're supposed to do but i was wondering if there was a way of just recording it from the recording box. It would make things much easier for me.
Well, what your computer is displaying might be the computer trying to save resources as it captures. I know ATI doesn't drop the frame rate while recording, but there may be an option to capture with the display at real time. But yeah, i'd recomend recording to a VCR, then into the computer if you are having that issue.

I also have the same Video capture card, DVD Xpress lol welcome to wallmart. Anyway you can capture real time, you only need a VCR you don't need any tape but is good to have a backup. You connect the Gamecube to the VCR and use the AV output of the vcr and connect it to you DVD Xpress, then use the coaxial connector (the normal tv one) and connect it to the tv, you can play at normal time and the match will have a 3 second lag on the computer. BTW is there a mic I can connect to one of the AV inputs of the capture card so the matches have the voice over from the people?
