TOURNAMENT IN VANCOUVER B.C CANADA -Don't post here this is an OLD thread-

OK Jan28th tournament in Richmond B.C from noon-9pm-ish

well I'll talk to eric and other people but this is how we usually do it...

Location: This tournament is taking place at a house in Richmond, B.C
the address is 4466 Gander Dr. This is near the intersection of "Williams" and "Railway" Mapquest is your friend. Our area code is "604" and our postal code is "V7E 5T9"

Entry Fee:
Singles- $5
Doubles- $5 ($2.50 per person, $5 per team)

Match format:
Singles- 4 stock, 8 min, best of 3 (semi's and finals are best of 5). Random stages are Yoshi story, Kirby 64, Fountain of dreams, FD, Battlefield, and Pkm Stadium. See first page of B.C Canada thread for other info, some banned/counterpick stages MAY vary depending on how updated Troy's list is.

Doubles- 5 stock, 10 min, best of 3 (semi's and finals are best of 5). Random stages are Yoshi Story, Kirby 64, FD, Battlefield, and Pkm Stadium. Fountain of Dreams is banned due to match disruption lag.

Double elimination for both doubles and singles. Players will be seeded into an apprpriate # of players bracket. Effort will be made to separate brothers, crews, and/or regular competitors from eachother.

No funky controllers with L-cancel mods, SH mods or any of that unheardof bullcrap. I will be on the tournament floor and I started working out so I'm gettin stronger and if u fool around too much and piss me off then well prepare to face some dire consequences I know ya'll are cool though

We have 3 tv's and 3 gc's for this event so far...

We ask that anyone planning to attend this makes an effort to bring a TV and/or Gamecube. We will stop once the list gets to 6tv's and 6gamecubes.

BTW people this is listed on the tournament calendar. Go there and sign up for the heck of it.

TROY: Lowering the tournament fees would do two things. Get more local players and less experienced (greater Vancouver) players to attend. this is a good thing. Flip side is that would make the pot smaller lowering the entry from $10 - $5 thus decreasing the chances of some good outside competition showing up. Not saying that it would make or break someone's decision but these ARE pretty standard entry fee's and unless I can see that we won't have any outsiders or most people in general want the fee lowered to $5 per person I will be keeping it at $10.

Hey, Just wanted to let you guys know that Skypal won't be able to make it to this one on account of them going to TANG 12.0 (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=61418). Since they 've been planning on it since before this was posted and Isai will be at TANG 12.0, there is little chance of them making it to this. This post isn't to be mean or anything, but you may want to change the date or think of attending TANG 12.0 yourselves. Hope to hear back from you guys.

Oh, and i'll definitely have my license by the end of this month, so then it's just a matter of getting my mom's permission to go into canada that would stop me from coming to your guys' stuff.

Tang? WTF!? I would totally drop this tourney and go to this "Tang" but I'd be letting down alot of locals. This tournament WILL stay and I WILL be lowering the entry fee to $5 per person for singles and $2.50 per person for teams.

Don't be scared, were all nice guys. And im assuming theres about 12+ people going.
If you were training against lvl 9 comp foxes/falco's then your gonna be in for a big surprise because...... We play exactly like them :laugh: :laugh:
Nah j/k but if you do only train on lvl 9's then its going to be tough for you.

And I would think that we are "crazy good" biggest smash community around here.
