I've copped a lot of that chainthrowing from Cory, and more recently Domo....so don't spam that too much it's just a waste of time :)...I'd suggest you work on IC vs Falco...Falco is a prick to the IC's.

Ok if anyone would like to have any say, current set up based on about 50+ people showing (I like to think positively) will be a swiss qualifier with 20 games, and then top 16 finals of double elimination.

Few things, to make sure matches run accordingly what time limit do we want for matches?

secondly should the semi finals also be double elimination (I guess im used to the Unreal Championship 2 tournament format where semis are best of 3 and finals are best of 5)

The event will be pretty similar to SEAT2 as its BYO (for people in other states as long as you can bring cubes im fine) but mainly searching for people with TV's in NSW.

Lastly it will also be 1v1 only no teams. (though im guessing if we have a place suplied by us from OHN that we will be capable of have free play)

ED!T: one thing mentioned by the OHN guys, would anyone care if a trophy was bought with some of the entrance fee from first place?

I think semi should also be double elimination, that way it is a better indication of who comes 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Just one thing, are you planning on using neutral stages on random? counter-picking etc.. and stuff?

I can't practice against Falco due to no one playing the game here. So best I can do is practice techy stuff against Fast fallers. And about the only techy thing is the d-air chainthrowing sadly enough.

The stages are random selection unless a neutral decission is made.

Finals are final 16 like SEAT2, but its going to be double elimination.

Completely random? that hurts my main character IC. As a lot of random stages can be bad for Nana. I'll cry if a moving stage ever ever appears.

I'd rather Neutral stages set on random. But I guess, I'm not in charge.

Well right now its still planing, the random stages were going to be the approved ones so I guess the only moving stage would be poke stadium (unless mute city is an approaved stage)

As for the final 16 I would prefer a best of 3 and double elimination which means more matches :), I can check with the timing and stuff, if there is by all means thats what we will have.

Give yourself max 3 hours for a DE Finals for the top 16. All matches should be best of 3, and ou can even consider having the championship match a best of 5. You should aim to create a long finals process, but be mindful of other factors which will limit you (TV's, time).

Random ONLY to neutral stages. That's 6 stages imo, or 6 stages + Rainbow Cruise if you're going 100% MLG stylez.

Hey guys,

In regards to OHN2006, if you are really serious about having a Smash tournament at OHN now is the time to step up. FAB over at ozhadou has said he wil step up and run a Smash tourney if no one else does but it would be much better if someone else within your community did.

OHN will run July 1st [Sat] and July 2nd [Sun], at UTS in Sydney. If there is going to be a genuine interest in a Smash tourney at OHN I should be able to get 1 or 2 or even a few top US Smash players out to the event through "Empire Arcadia" who has already teamed up with ozhadou to come out to OHN. TFGM [Boss of the Empire] has said that if the Smash interest is high he could possibly bring out some of these players:

- Wes
- Blaine
- MTV's Kilaor
- DA

I am not sure if these are the exact names of the players, I will have to confirm with TFGM. More details can be found in the following threads over at ozhadou:

This will be fun, quite like Animania in 2005. I hope there arent TOO many Marths. Animania was disappointing because of that, about 20 people were Marth out of 40... that was sad. I like to see fresh new characters instead of Marth, Shiek, Fox and Falco but there isnt much you can do about it, people just stick to common characters i guess... Originality is by far more interesting.
