Tips for picking up Roy

Hi, I was playing with roy because I havn't used him in a long time, and now that i am better he dosn't suck do bad, So I have decided to learn to use him as a second or 3rd character,

Mainly because he is the coolest looking character in the game, and he can deal like 20 percent damge almost instanty, plus his grabs are great, any way I would like to know what I shoudl probably master first with him, and pretty much anything that might help me get better with using him.

Ahhh sorry overlooked that, thanks, but I mean any advice for a noob Roy user kinda helps since there are alot of people that use him and know what character not to use him against and how to handle aggressive and defensive characters and such,

I guess I should have been more discriptive.

Well, for defensive people who shield a lot, use his grabs to your advantage to hit a smash side a..
For offensive people use a shffled nair and fair a lot, and try to hit it with the tip.
For ledgegurading, just charge up his B attack.
