I'm starting to use Roy a little, and I need some good ledgeguarding tactics besides smash side a and B.
Any suggestions?

Edgehogging and that's pretty much it. Otherwise B is the best thing Roy has.

If you're playing against a person who can't sweetspot the ledge perfectly, countering is great. Decent enough knockback to edgehog afterwards.

Edgehog is almost always your best bet. When you land on the stage, simply stand up and Fsmash.
then B, like rebel said

K, thanks everyone, but If I know for sure that they will make it back on the stage (such as they are using a character with good recovery) should I just wait for them to do a quick attack or charge up the B?

against fox/falco or even falcon I use dtilt -> fsmash. Seems to work well for me if they are under me. For floaty ones yeah probably b. If you know they're gonna make it back, anticipate their path and fsmash?

Will the tilt smash thing work on anyone besides Fox and Falco?

If fox/falco sweet spot the edge, can roy still hit them with dtilt before they grab?

If timed correctly, yes. But that's if you dtilt before they reach the ledge. Not sure what happens when they actually reach it. But when they sweetspot, you have to hit them with the dtilt before they actually get to the edge during the attack. As I said, not sure what happens if you do it to late and they actually get to the ledge. Probably means they're safe.

I'm not sure if they would be safe, I could just not be watching correctly but I noticed that the ledge invincibility doesn't come for a few frames AFTER you land on the stage.
