Look for the Student Lounge to the right of the book store in the Commons.
Party starts at 12:00 pm, matches will start at or around 2:00 pm. However, the college will close at 5:00 pm. Matches will continue at Caesar's house. Time adjustments are subject to change if there is a need.
All are welcome and encouraged to bring their own setups. Currently, we have a possible 5 cubes, 3 tvs, and one projector for sure (a second by a long shot).

All events will be split 70/20/10 to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, respectivly.

With the gaming club official, we can now host events in the banquet hall, put up flyers (hell, we can even have school officials put flyers up for us), get sponsers, and handle cash prizes. There is a large number of smashers already here at Vista, but a large number are new to large tournies. I'll try to keep the entry fee no more than FIVE DOLLARS.

Crazywombat, I think you said something about having a bracket generator. Either way, I was looking to make it something a little different than tradional brackets. What I would hope for is a round robin tournament, that way, no one has to worry about bad matchups early on.

So here's the general plans:

-1 on 1 tourney: 4 stock, 8 minute time limit, no items, random neutral stages (time limit may change with # of entries) and I'm hoping for round robin style.

-FFA tourney: 5 or 10 stock, no time limit, very low items on tourney style (no food, hammer, star, and MAYBE others. A vote should be taken on this) and random drawing for match-ups

EDIT: Will most likely will be replaced by a low tier tourney. I may experiment further with it, just seeing what will happen with no top tier only. This portion is up in the air.

-Team Tourney, 5 stock, Team Attack off, no items. Stages MAY include Poke Floats, Big Blue, and Hyrule Castle. (most stages IMHO are too small for team battles)

And possibly.....

-The Pure Tournament: Classified Information, suckas! :laugh: But the entry fee will be TEN DOLLARS

And for anyone interested, there will probably also be a smaller tournament for Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! 3. It would be definetly 1 on 1, but they may want FFA as preliminaries. :psycho:

I will be moving the final matches of each tournament to Caesar's house (which is only five minutes away, and directions will be provided and car pooling is encouraged), where once nightfall hits, we can put his projector on the side of the house for a screen so big, the characters are bigger than you. Trust me, it's awesome.

It would not be too hard to actually find a cater for food, but we already would be in the commons, so there is plenty of vending machines and a cafeteria too.

I will receive help from my fellow students at Vista, but I could use a little help with the bracketeering. Lastly, any suggestions on rules will be considered. Please keep this bumped or stickied.

I'd go, but I don't think 3 hours is enough for all those tournaments. At ours, it took three hours just to do the basic one.

This sounds like fun, if I had gas I woudl totally be there! Or, rather, if I had any chance at all of winning gas money, I'd be there. XD

I have a pretty awesome bracket making program that I've used for every tournament I've hosted, and it handles not only the bracket generation but you can use it for seeding either manually or by skill simple or advanced... You can handle the entree fees/prizes and current matches/finished matches through it, as well as print the bracket or save an image of it for future reference.... Really great prog.

I know that there's a thread somewhere on the SRK forums... I'll have to look and find it, or when I get home i can put the *.exe file for it up on yousendit.com and have a link emailed to you :)

Eagle this is "THE" Texas tourney hoster lol, TA always has to be on or me and SOS will inf all u muthas. Hyrule is noobishly noob, No one should play that or blue lol. But hey its your tourney :) Round robin is impossible in 3 hours, it would take atleast 15 hours lol.

BTW, Comfort Eagle, if you do want to make it RR, you're gonna need a lot of TVs, GCN's, and a good sense of organization and time management to keep things flowing smoothly and fast.

I'll change rules depending on how many show up. Forget what I said about Hyrule, but Fourside will be on, at least for team. The only exploit I know about on that stage is Peach Bomber, and I'll declare a match over if I see that ****. Let me know anything else about Fourside. There's vista, utsa, converse and sak to worry about. And does anyone know which Mcdonald's Caveman works at? I think I saw him at Babcock and Prue.

Yeah, the guy just starting using Marth's grabs and up tilts only like a month and a half ago. But even then he thinks he can take Sos. It will probably take me 2 or 3 more months of playing SOS to consistenty get him down to one stock.
