If i spelt anything wrong, I don't care.
My question is though, do you think that roy's attacks leave him open enough so that a person could get in 2 attacking in the recovery time? I know the Up+B move (When landing) leaves you open for at least 2 seconds. When he hits the ground you can't press R to get a quick-up. Another slow move is his FF smash and his Delay on the Double Edged Dance. I just want to know if anyone knows a way to counter-act his slowness other than multiple dodges and jumps?

Well, Roy has one of those weakness of beeing slow. His moves are really slow and that's what disadvantage him from his oppenents. And it's not a personnal point that Roy's attacks are slow, it's a fact.

He's not slow. But because you need to get closer to the opponent, you give yourself less priority leaving yourself vulnerable. And if you mess up just one thing in execution, you leave yourself completely vulnerable.
The alternative is spacing your attacks like Marth, and that's worse. You'll just get hit because they'll be able to move long before you.
Roy leaves himself open. He's a mindgame character, don't play him like something else.

Now, rebel is right. Mindgames make Roy, as it makes up for the laggieness in him. Just SHFFLC and he will be yours to grow on and MASTAH!!
****, it looks like it's turning into a "Roy is top tier". Wake up guys, even if a Roy mindgame, he could not beat a Marth, Fox and even a falcon.

Roy does not suck...pichu sucks. Roy is dead-center in the tier list. Everyone knows that Marth is better, but not many of us that play Roy care. I like Roy, so I use him. It just feels better winning a match as Roy than it does Marth. Plus I like the way Roy feels as you play him. I don't use Marth because he's better; I'm not like everyone else. I use who I like. Anyone who used a character just because he's better is retarded.

Well, I don't play Marth because he's the 3rd best character in the game. My Fox and my Falco are better (not sure about my falco but still) I play him because he's fun to play. I don't like Roy because many of his attacks lag, bad recovery etc. And I love random combos that Marth can do.

I am playing Roy again, and he is one of my better characters. I just spend less time in these forums because 90% of the time it's n00bs bickering about Roy being better or Roy completely sucking. I grow tired of that nonsense :-P. I would rather deal with and educate the n00bs, newbs, and intermediates in the Mewtwo section than to fight endless battles with pointless reoccuring threads.
That and I am more attuned to Mewtwo than Roy (they have a lot of things in common actually :-P). I play a good Roy, but I also play a ****ing insane Mewtwo :-P.

If you don't play roy, then I find it hard to believe you know much about him. If you think he's slow then you're playing him wrong, because he doesn't have to be.

Anyway, to the topic maker: yeah, Roy's defense is weaker than say, Marth's, but I wouldn't call him too vulnerable. Just a little more vulnerable than others... Shuffled aerials are good for cover, DED is pretty nice, and dtilt comes out quick enough. Just remember: you're not as vulnerable when you're comboing somebody =)

Well, I never enjoyed the feeling of controlling a Roy. I said he was slow because some of his moves lag a lot (like the f-smash) at the beginning and at the ends. Unlike Roy, Marth is always moves and I enjoy the speed feeling that Marth gives over Roy.

Unlike Roy, Falco is able to stay in the ring and has a lot of moves that help him in the battle. And I said I prefer Marth over Roy because Marth has a better recovery etc.

Actually the Marth/Roy recovery issue is very debateble. Sure, Marth can get some decent horizontal recovery from his forward B, more than Roy can, but Roy's ability to significantly alter the path of his up B (or blazer) gains more horizontal recovery than Marth. Marth obviously has the edge in vertical recovery, but not all that much. It's give or take. In some situations Roy has it better and others Marth. Regardless of whether or not one is overall better in recovery (I have to admit that it is more than likely Marth), the difference is so little that it's not really too significant.

Sorry to you Rip but I must say you suck even if I come too from Quebec because giving your personal opinion on a character you dont like doesn't help the guy (I must say girl in this case).
Another thing, Pichu doesnt suck because he rapes both Falco and Fox w/ shuffle uair. GG no re on that.
And for the Roy related post... I can say that yea it's true he lacks of range compared to high tier character but is moves behing pretty much the same as Marth I can except he gives a good battle is the mind game is present.

I did on a "coup de tête" (dunno how to say it in english :/). You want to know why I'm no noob? My Marth can wavedash, l-cancel (always), short hop, shffl all the way on final destination, tech etc. And my fox infinites Samus on FD (my max is 22). I'm no noob, I just acted like a little kid...
