I tend to use aerial attacks at least 75% of the time, only using up and down throws and mainly forward tilt and neutral A on the ground. Should I be using ground attacks more?

Stay in the air, man. Ganon is a bunny character.

so true just short hop and throw for combos. if you throw down you can combo with using a low sweep kick and use the uair for another hit
slaps and forward tilts are too good.

dont forget dsmash fsmash dtilt usmash fowardB downB (and utilt and nuetralB for jiggs). it depends on situation but ganons awsome in the air. with pivoting learned ganons ground game becomes almost as important as his air game (but the fair is too good).

Ganon's ground moves are awesome. With his neutral, forward tilt, and down tilt, he has really nice range versatility, and they're all quick moves. Put these together with his forward b to toss em up into a combo and that's all you need.
ive always thought dtilt was an awesome move but its got a rather sizeable chunk of lag on the end of it.
Pivot tilts and smashes ftw.

pivot tilts ARE TEH P0WNAGE with ganon, i like doing then against chars who are already at a disadvantage in reach on ganon its like not matter where you move youll out reach them at moments notice. fun!

Just a random question here:
Just how necessary is pivoting/DA dash to Ganon's ground game? I do realize the advantage that it gives, but considering the (relative) difficulty involved in learning this particular technique, is it really worth spending my time learning how to DA dash? Furthermore, is it easier to learn to DA dash w/Ganon as opposed to say, Mario? B/c I've already spent a few hours trying to learn how to DA dash, and it's been very unproductive.
Finally, does anyone have any tips to learning the DA dash?

pivoting with ganon is definetly helpful (and with marth it works wonders) but its a tech that takes a little while to get down. im pretty sure you can pivot smashes almost instantly but tilts are alot trickier and you need to have a good sence of control when executing them. one of the things i did to learn to pivot tilts consistantly is if i kept getting a fsmash instead of a tilt id try angling my tilt and for some reason it just worked. some ppeople may have a different problem with it but that was basically all i needed, that and alot of practice.
search the forum for a thread called pivoting with ganondorf and you should get alot of helpful info.
oh and jiggs and peach are my fsmashes best friend  .
I don't know about anyone else but I believe dorf is best in the air. As in if your not SH everything then you are probably not doing as well as you could be. People say Ganondorf is to slow but thats because they are spending to much time walking around when they should be chain throwing into a SH nair. Even when you are edge guarding you should constantly be SH to prepare for when they return so you can bair them out of salvation/vacation/communication/constipation/fascination/explanation/graduation/relaxation/organization/hospitalization/correctional rehabilitation/and for the big one national aeronautics and space administration. Amen.
In short ground tactics are important but air game is much more affective.
