can you consider bumping the entry fee up to $10 to make this a little more worthwhile? and also, we need to know how much money is going to the location, and the exact pot split.

You people should live closer to Iowa.

You also might want to think about the stages more. Might want to ban a few and not make the finals only on FD.

Friday in general isn't going to work for me until after 6PM. And that particular Friday just isn't going to work period. But anyway, some actual (and possibly useful) input...

How is the character select going to work?
Presumably double blind picks, at least for the first round? After that, is it double blind again or advance slob picks?

And regarding the finals:
I agree with EB. Don't make the finals only on FD. (And my opinion is that Pokemon Stadium is more fair anyway... though it can get boring at times with some of its forms when people just stand there ans wait for the stage to change again)
And I'd suggest not making it one match, 20 stocks. Though I suppose that depends on what sort of result you're looking for. My opinion is that if two people are really close in ability, that match could very well come down to who properly guessed which character to counterpick. Though if you want the winner to be the person that is the best with one character that can take on just about any opponent, rather than someone who relies on counterpicking characters in order to win, then your way makes a bit more sense. I personally think that having a chance to counterpick characters is more fun.

However, since I'm not going to be able to make it, you certainly don't have to listen to anything I say.

Finals is one 20 stock match? Wow that is absolutely insane....

Alright guys thanks for the ideas, i think you are right, Ill bad some levels, and for character picking you must keep with your character through a whole round, if you want to switch characters you must wait till the next round, and as for the finals, ill make it best3/5 5 stock with more levels open. I don't know if i want to raise it to 10 dollars, but ill have to think about it. Thanks for the tips.

a note about the places: can you make it so that all of the scrolling ones are gone? I noticed that pokie floats and rainbow ride aren't on the banned list. Also, Onett, Yoshi's Story, and Mushroom Kingdom's I and II people might not like.

what kinda place is this gonna be at, like a gamestore or cardstore or something?

oh, nm, its on the first post

something else that occured to me though
finishing the brackets in 2 and a half hours doesn't seem like a lot of time for a 1v1s tournament with only 4 setups (speaking from experience)
just a warning that if the turnout ends up being good you might want to consider dropping the stocks down to 4 or 3.
