I've been meaning to post about this for about a week, and only now got around to it...
WEEKLY TOURNIES AT GAMERS ZONE IN MESA AZ.
Yeah. Thats right. Weekly *****es.
Sundays @ 5:30 pm - 3460 E. Southern Ave. #107, Mesa, AZ 85204

I'm friends with the guy that runs the tournaments there every sunday - it used to be Halo 2 tournies, but my room mate and I persuaded him to switch to smash. This week will be the 3rd straight week of smash tournies at the store, usual tournout is 15-20 people. We need people to show up so the tournies continue!
Entry is $3, with the winnings distributed in some wierd system where everyone ends up with at least $1 back. I dunno. It's fun though, and we usually stay after and play a lot of friendlies.

Singles only? Or are there going to be any doubles or low tier tournaments?
We can do whatever we want mang... today was singles only, awesome matches between Sean B. and Tony J. - Sean took the tourney. Wasn't expecting to see those tucson guys there. Sean and Meda - you guys are awesome for coming down.
Next week we can do teams... we've done teams there before. We can also do low tier if you guys like... my game and watch isnt all that bad, id like to test him out ;). Problem is if it starts at 5:30 we'll probably have to go pretty fast to do more than just singles - we went 5:30 to 9 today, although a good 20-30 minutes was the finals.
Is this Weekly Melee battle still happing?

Sup. I'll go to the next tournament. Hopefully You'll go again Sean and Levi. WOuld be cool to see you guys sense i havent talked to you guys in awhile. Levi you know my number, give me a call sometime threw out the week about it. I've met alot of new smashers to that really want to see you and Sean play.
So there will be a tournament in Mesa this upcoming Sunday on the 9th? If so i'll bring about 10 people.

dangit. This one im not going to be able to make it most likely. Tomorrow is my moms birthday. The next one, i will be attending. Thats a promise. Levi, Sean, make it next week also if you can. Would like to chill with you guys again. Chuckie / Ferm to! =)

I know it wouldn't apply to today's weekly, but do you think it's possible to push start time back to 5 or so, so that ic could end earlier? (issues with mi padres)
It's cool if not, but if no else has any objections...
You'd have to talk to the staff in the store.
By the way... i'll probably miss this week fellers, i have a midterm tomorrow in physics :cry:

Was fun tonight, you guys are alot better than i predicted, I dont have anyone to practice with and I might start coming weekly.

Hey how late do the friendlies usually ruN? I work evey sunday 5-9 I woudln't mind stopping by after 9 if you all are still playing. Let me know.

Well this was totally worth the money ($8) to come for. Yes I said 8...5 of that was a money match to Taj...which I will not do again for a while. First off I have to say Forward you are too good...just too good. Now...I hope you all are there next week so I get another shot at everyone....3rd place just isnt good enough >_<

im a decent enough smashman. i finished 2nd in the Game Crazy Tourney. But i lost to Tony. ha. wasnt even a challenge for him though. im mormon so i wouldnt be able to do it on Sundays.
if there is one on Saturday id be up for it.

I think I have enough confidence in myself now with my Peach to try to make it to the next one if I can. I think experience is the only thing I need, n' can't get experience by just watching, so I'll be joining in the next one to try to add my own flavor of battle to the gamefield.

Observing the matches on these weeklies things have been quite the entertainment <_<, and depending on whether or not I feel like smashing, I might be in the next one considering I said I'd be in this last one and didn't participate =) I'm just trying to get significantly better before I face-off with the better players.

Yes, yes, I do have school on Monday. My parents have work too. This is the primary reason that we had to leave prematurely last Sunday. I don't suppose I can force any of you to do anything, nor should I try--but d'ya think you can report and start up matches without lolligagging in between? This is but a selfish suggestion, but please try and take heed to it. I ask you not to hasten your matches and play poorly, just reduce thhe lag in between matches. So, yeah...maybe this time, if I don't get knocked out, I'll actually have enough time to finish too.

Where was everyone this week? And whatever happened to Shane?
The Swiss format we played was kinda weird, but it worked, I guess. My mom's being stingy about transport, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it nex week. I'll get friends' parents to drop and pick up. Still, she "wants me in bed by 10:00."
