In the video "Weilding the Triforce of Power" I noticed that he managed to grab the ledge and get up while doing the Up-Air. I've tried to figure this out on my own but I can't get it down, I land just a little too low and if I'm lucky I'll still grab the ledge.
I've tried tapping down to let go, x for midair jump and while moving towards the stage, hitting up on the c-stick. That ended in death.
I then tried hitting away from the stage and double jumping and then hitting up on the c-stick. I managed to grab the ledge, but can't make it on the level.
Assistance?

It's done excatly as both of the ones you mentioned. You can press down/away, rejump, and then c-stick/up A/Z landing on the ledge. you just need better timing pretty much. Jump sooner after you let go, uair sooner after you jump.

i think you maen 'triforce of power'..
anyway, tipman suggests doing back with the c-stick (not too much angled so you wont end up doing bair to ur death) to release the ledge, then double jump with the analog stick and a for the uair.

I think you mean "mean".
Anyway, you can do it either way.
Pressing down risks you fastfalling to your doom if you hold down for more than one frame.
Away is safer, but takes more DI to get back on the stage.
I use down. But whatever you're comfortable with.

Does away really DI you away from the ledge, even in such a short frame span? I'd never even thought of that.

Yes, it really does. I am much more comfortable with down for that reason. Because it's a lot trickier to press away, followed by a Nair and DIing forward, than just using down and DIing forward.
Just use what feels more comfortable. If you find you can't use down without FFing, then your best bet is to just use away.
I press away, then forward while jumping, then nair, and then DI forward and pull down to FF onto the stage =P
all it is is just basic control stick manipulation. practice and it will come.
