View Full Version : Tournament in Rexburg, Idaho (or Idaho Falls)
Hey, I am a student here at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg. I would be willing to prepare and host a SSBM tournament. It would be easiest for me to host right here in Rexburg. However, if the need arises, we can set up some place in Idaho Falls if it would be easier for others to travel there. However, in order for this to work, I need some response. If there were to be a tournament in one of these two places, who would be able to attend? Who would be willing to travel and play? Anyone live close to either of these places? I already have a group of about a half-dozen guys on campus that would participate. More from other places would make it awesome.

Ok.......please hurry up with this. I'll host it if you want, since i live right between everybody. It doesn't even have to be big, I just never get to play against anybody so I'm really excited.

I live in Idaho falls and could bring 2 or 3 people not including me if you ever get this going.
Okay, now that I know some people are serious about this, I'll jump on setting it up. Give me a couple days to plan things out and I'll announce a tournament (probably here in Rexburg since a majority of the players are already here).

ok we have like 5 or 6 peepz here in Rexburg + 3 or 4 in IF and casture with like 3 . That's around 13 people lets do this.

Maybe we can reserve 2 floor lounge in biddulph Hall for a night. We might need another couple gamecubes brought.

I've probably already been counted as one of the half-dozen here on campus, but I thought I'd post on here anyway and show my support. My advice, having the tournie soon is good, but at the same time we don't want to mess up the first official Rexburg Melee Tournament by rushing things. Right?
Yes, I do intend on establishing both a team tournament and a singles tournament. We're looking at a $5 entry fee with a possible separate fee for food (so people have the option of not paying for food that that do NOT eat). The more I think about it, the 2nd Floor Lounge of Biddulph would be perfect. We need to talk to the head resident about reserving it.
Yes, we will try not to rush the setup, but that is why I called for a couple days preparation. I'll discuss it with the "clan" here at BYU-Idaho and establish a time. Look for an official posting sometime next week. Until then, please keep actively discussing it here.

Thats good, once you get the everything together make sure to post how prizes will wor and also will it be $5 per team or per person?
We have a meeting scheduled for Saturday. We the hosts here in Rexburg will discuss the details. Once everything has been clearly defined, we will make a detailed post in the official tournament forum. I will also announce here that it has been completed. As for the team tournament, it will probably be considered a separate tournament. Somehow I don't see it overlapping with the singles tournament. I dunno, though. We will discuss those and other details at our "official" meeting.

hey im with casture im way excited for the tourney but i hate to admit i wont be able to make it i know its a lot to ask to change the date so i wont come straight out and say it... ok change it.... jk but all i need to know are there going to be others after this one and when are they so i can plan to be there i for one say we have theses at least once a month if not more good luck to everyone at the tourney thanks..
Hey, if this tournament turns out well and everyone is cool with coming out to another one, I would gladly host another tournament soon after. We're all hoping for a positive turnout.

I have about three friends who will play and me, so four. I dont know when it is though, I looked on the tourney info and didnt see it. If I missed it I will come to the second one. Battle Crist, call Nick and let him know 351-3451

The time has come... Let us begin preparations for another tournament. Let's discuss ideas/suggestions. Rexburg will see at least one more tournament before the semester ends in mid-December.

Hey sweet! We'll be there! Let's keep the lines of communication wide open so we don't schedule tournaments on top of each other. I have to look at my schedule but we're looking at a tenative Nov 19 tourney or Dec 3 tourney. (I won't be available during Thanksgiving weekend. I don't think ANYONE will be...)
