Is it true that roy owns fox? If so..how. I've heard rumors of this matchup but i'm not sure if it's true or not.

Roy has a pretty good matchup against fox, but he definitely isn't a fox counter.

no.. all roy has on fox is down tilt to f-smash and up throw to f-smash which can only be done on fd and poke stadium pretty much, he gets raped w/ platforms cuz he has no air game and roy sucks on platforms

Fox also has to be pretty close to shine. You can sometimes pull out an Fsmash out of nowhere and land a critical on Fox. Actually, this probably wouldn't be a good idea in high level play. I always Fsmash with Roy though. I don't care if it misses and gets punished, it's just so powerful I can't resist Fsmashing every 15 seconds.

you can do upthrow to over B combo too and it's harder to escape. or chaingrab.
FD is your best chance and it's a hard match.
platforms are suicide, yeah. espeacially with the standard back kicks or upthrow flip kic smap from fox.

Against Fox, a better choice is Marth, I find Roy much easier to kill than Marth, since he is slower and has no projectiles, and a very short up be, though it has good horozontal range. You could put a little pressure on a Fox player if you used counter alot though, so I guess If you do that you might stand a chance,
Other than that in my opinion I think Fox could beat Roy. But hey, if your good with Roy, go for it and see for yourself if it works for you or not.

Umm... against almost everybody, a better choice is Marth

Of course Marth is the better choice.
I personally think Roy does better in this matchup than vs Falco, but it's still an uphill battle. You can't be repeatedly waveshined because Roy falls down after getting shined whereas Marth remains standing.

Yeah, a Roy-Fox matchup is usually pretty good, but a Marth-Fox matchup is usually better.
