Does anyone live out here in the eastern part of Idaho. Or any part of Idaho for that matter. I don't hear much from Idaho so i want to see if there are any of you out there.

I live in Oregon but am schooling in BYU-Idao, Rexburg until December, so I count for a while. <_<

I know of at least 2 others that play, but I know that there are more. I live in Rigby, so we're just a few minutes away. I've heard from my sister that there were some smashers in her ward, up at BYU-I, so I think that there are a fair amount people. If possible I'd like to help set a tournament up, but I don't know where to start.

We've got at least half a dozen smashers in my dorm alone, and there's still more we find every now and then.
And I'm just as clueless as to how any sort of tourney would be organized aside from the ones we make in casual play.

I assume it's just like that except we have an entrance fee. And then the prize money is distributed between the winners in some ratio. As of a location, could we just use 2 apartments right next to each other. I don't know if that's against the rules for some apt. up there. Either that or we could try asking the Family Movie Center to host like they did for that big Halo 2 tournament. Man was that fun.

Please specify the date for that tournament if it's going to happen. There is no Friday the 9th in October, a 7th, but no 9th. Hurry and figure out if it's still on and where. I would come if it's on a Friday and I could get at least 2 other to come.
I also attend BYU-Idaho in Rexburg. I know of a good handful of SSBM players. (Fenrir, I probably know you. If not, who are you? We should smash sometime!) It would wonderful if we could host a tournament here on or around campus. Or if it is more convenient, we could do one if Idaho falls. Most of us would have to find rides, but it'd be worth the trouble. Our semester ends in mid-December so if we could set up a tournament (or two or three) before then, that would ideal.
Let me know! I can help make it happen!

Yup, ya do. Hopefully we'll find ourselves some other good smashers to play with.
Ah yes, how could I forget my good friend Khan? :)
C'mon! Let's set up a tournament in Idaho! If there was a smash tourney in either Rexburg or Idaho Falls, who would be willing to attend? We already have a small group up here waiting for competition.

I live in Rigby, so either IF or Rexburg works for me. I'm willing to go to Salt Lake for a tournament so 15-30 isn't bad. Fridays would be best for me, 'cause I have work on Saturdays. I can get off if there is no other option, though.
So Casture, Fenrir, Average Joe, Wob Jebn, Xirix, and I are all Idaho-vicinity players. If I set one up, would you all come? I'm perfectly willing to host a tournament. I stated this is another post but no one responded. You gotta be proactive if we're gonna make this happen!

I also live in Idaho Falls and would do a smash turny or a halo 2 one.
For the smash turny i know two other kids that would go and for halo i know one other good player that would go. So whatever one you do I'd be in.

Im stationed in boise and i know a couple of guys in nampa, caldwell, and even oregon who would be interested in getting in on some smash action. none more than me of course as ive been searching for local competition for the longest time only to be disappointed by amateur to mediocre challengers who dont know about the smashboards, MLG, or even essential techniques such as L-cancelling, which i think are vital in determining whether you are a noob or not. the point is, and im not trying to sound cocky, is that im looking for some smashers who know what theyre doing and are as fierce competitors as me. if anyone in idaho thinks theyre up to it, im here and im waiting for true smashers to emerge and unite for either a battle of the best in state or just a general smash fest. im willing to host if necessary, though i dont have much host experience. whatever it takes dammit...
Hey, we have a tournament set up for the 19th! Can you come? Here is the link: Tournament by Valley Guard (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=58627)
We have just the hardcore players you're looking for. We have the L-cancelers, the SmashBoard posters, and otherwise fierce competitors you are looking for. Respond in the tournament thread and let us know your attendance status!
Rather than creating a new thread, I figured I'd just find this and bump it back up. I am wondering if anyone is interested in setting up a tournament or having a day of friendly matches in the Idaho Falls area. My entire crew disperses in mid-December so this is your last chance to face the members of Team ValleyGuard. As for me, I'll be joining up with Team Meow in Washington. Speak out my smash brethren! :)
