I attended the Spokane Tournament hosted by Peaches and company on the 10th and was talking to them about hosting a tournament of my own in Richland, Washington. It's about 3.5 hours from either Portland or Seattle, and about 2 hours from Spokane, so I figured it's fairly central for Smashers in all three big cities. I don't have any dates set up yet (looking at mid-October), but I wanted to see how many people would be interested in going before I start setting things up.

I would be there for sure.

Ahhhh. It seems like there's a whole 0% of people in WA who play Melee. I neeeeed to go to this event. Although I'd have to have some kind of uber good tranportation, seeing as how I freaking live in Monroe, which is about an hour and a half away from Seattle. But anyways, believe me, I'll definately try and obtain such transportation. I would've gone to the tourney in Seattle, but people yelled at me for even thinking such things. And that entry fee was rediculous!

I'm gonna bump this. Doesn't seem like anyone from the bigger Smash areas are intersted, but I know the east side of the state could go.

count me in again that was fun! :D

this time though, we need some ssb64 money matches going on while the tourney is going though, cause ssb64 owns.

I don't have a 64, but I don't see it being a problem so long as someone brings everything for it.

Thanks for the bump, Peaches! Hopefully I can get a date set soon.

I could bring my system, the game, and 2 controllers, as long as there is interest in it, don't wanna have to carry it and stuff for nothing.

I've got some friends who love Smash 64 and would probably like to take you up on that.

Alright, awesome! Hopefully a day is set soon, the earlier its determined the more people will come.

I'm thinking mid-October and later. Which days work best for everyone? I'm assuming a weekend, so I was considering the 23rd, a Sunday, or the 29th, the following Saturday.

The 29th is the best day for me, since it is a saturday, and I have school on monday (lots of people will have work too, so the tourney will have to end really early so people can get home and stuff) sunday won't really be that good imo.

That works for me.

Okay, for now we'll set the 29th as the tentative date, but I won't "make it official" until I know where this is happening. My apartment could work with a smaller group, but if there's going to be more people here than at the Spokane tourney then I need to consider a larger place to do it.

It is likely gonna be a larger turnout then at the spokane tourney, since you are kinda in the middle of 3 or 4 major cities, and MLG was at seattle the day of the last tourney, so the only people that showed up last time were spokane/really close to spokane, this time we might get some out of state people too. I think if your appartment was the same size that spencers was though we should be fine, the only thing we'd have to do is get another tv(so at least 3 total) set up, to make the tourney run smoother, or we could do 1 tv for the tourney, 1 for practice or fun matches, and 1 for n64.

I talked to my landlord today about having this in the apartment's recreation/lounge rooms. It wouldn't cost us anything to use unless we trash it. All I need to do is put down a deposit and I'll get it back in full if we clean up after ourselves, basically. Right now I have it tentatively reserved for a 6 hour period, but I can talk to him about extending that if we need to. The lounge area has a huge couch in front of an older-looking big-screen TV, and he said it'd be fine if we bring in extra TVs. There'd be plenty of room for a larger tournament, we just have to be well-mannered. I would love to get a rough number of people attending, though. Any idea of how many people would be coming from Spokane?

Dude, I'm from Richland, Washington! However, I am currently at school in Idaho! My break goes from mid-December to about May. So, when I come home, I will DEFINITELY attend any tournaments in the area. As for right now, I'm trapped at school. CURSES! Why did you have this idea NOW of all times??? LOL!

(Hey Sandman, how long have you lived in Richland? What part? I live on Jadwin near Lewis & Clark Elementary School.)
