View Full Version : Ganondorf vs. Falco?
I can't seem to win. My friend just uses smash attack and dodge like all the time, then edgeguards like a demon. Anyone have any tips?

yeah some tough match up it is...
try avoiding playing on fd, thats first.
i dont recomend trying to powershield the lasers, it is hard to do constintly. so what i do recomend is charging at him, jump and shield when needed to avoid lasers. remember, hes recovery is really short, so you can get some kills on low percents.
he can be chained throwed on higher percentage.
vs the spike you just have to sweet spot the ledge.

Trying to powershield the lasers consistently is borderline impossible. He's not a machine.
Yes, you can get kills at lower percents. Use Fair a lot. The range combined with low lag when SHFFLed makes it an excellent move Vs Falco. Edgehogging is also vital to get those early advantages.
By the time you can chain throw Falco, it's probably better to just Uthrow and either Uair or Fsmash.
If he rolls a lot, use Dsmash.
Ha. Just sweetspot the ledge? It's so difficult to do with Ganondorf, you can't count on it as being a reliable method of avoiding being spiked. You should, however, come in as low as you can. That's really all that you can do vs a edgeguarding Falco.

lol angelo
but seriously it is possible to powershield the majority of lasers it takes a lot of practice but is certainly possible lol jus look at wes
spam fair and play smart like eddie if u keep the pressure on falco will start to shield and the fair will go through his shield and hit him off- after that edgeguard
light shield if u cant powershield lasers ganon's shield is pretty good and it usually forces the impatient spammer to come in which lets u start attacking
yea sweetspotting the edge is difficult so use the up-b and hug the wall while DIing towards the stage- then hold l or r a sec before falco's dair will hit you and you will edgetech (don't hold up while pressing l or r)- once u edgetech up-b into the falco
and forward-b goes through lasers according to undisputed ive seen it happen sometimes i don no check it out

He just joined in Aug of 05'... He COULD be around the same skill level as Wes, but I find it unlikely.

stop discouraging him lol
In the words of Forward, the key to getting around the shorthop laser is to "Roll like a Noob"

that's right.
it's too hard to use forward b to go through lasers, you have to time it at the point where falcon/ganon is about to go forward. lasers own ganon though. and never pick FD if you're playing falco, everyone should know that by now.

yet sadly even eddie gets his ganon 2 and 3 stocked by Tink's falco, lasers and shine combos are just too good for the slow dorf.

Me and my friend always have this matchup. I seem to add some damage by fairs and sometimes, a grab - u throw or d throw - then a d smash. At a good %, the d smash usually hits and adds quite a bit of damage. Trying to sweet spot the edge, its almost a no-can-do, so I usually try to hug the wall and tech most of the time. Spaming the fair is probably your best bet, along with some good throw combos.

reverse up air kills easy on Falco. But he will rape you with shine and laser.

I play Falco. and what Ganon does that pisses me off is his crazy shuffled Fair. He's just too powerful, I have to spam lasers like mad, and if I mess up I'm screwed. So while playing Ganon remember that a few good hit will kill Falco. Falco just can't take the huge knockback and damage that Ganon throws out. Ganon's recovery isn't that bad either, which makes him a ***** to kill.

I fight a Falco player on an almost daily basis and win but I don't have anything to add considering how fast I'd be shot down on this forum.

I haven't really fought against other Falco's when playing as Ganon but I have fought Ganon's with my Falco. And yes, SHL is a real pain in the *** to deal with. The upB is really difficult to sweetspot especially if you're going up against Falco's spike. My only real suggestion is that once you manage to close the gap, try to crush his shield as quickly as possible.

roll, upthrow tech chase with dowb, down b, up air when he full jumps, kill with ftilt, up b out of shield when it might be needed, fowared b through lasers. eddie spikes and ftilt low to stop sweetspotting. dont full jump alot and keep aerials to a min
