A few things I can use.
Against non-experts, depending on which character you're fighting against. If you use your down smash when they're at 0%, often times you can hit them with two in a row with no retaliation.
If you think they're coming after you with an attack that takes like half a second to miss, ground dodge then immediately Up + B. Hard to time, but pretty effective.
Instead of charging up the Forward + B off the board, use it several times for short bursts. You'll increase your odds of getting a super charge, plus it's harder for the opponents to get you when off the edge.
Use a lot of the aerial down + a. It's quick, got good priority, does lots of damage, and again, just comes out very quick and surprisingly. The forward + A in the air is also very good.

One that I'm pretty fond of is a short-hopped dair into a sex kick. You just have to be sure to get the dair in early so that the nair will fit in the same hop.
OR
If the character becomes airborne after the dair, you can use your second jump and pull one or two uairs and a fair.
Also, with some characters, luigi's down throw leaves them in the air just long enough for you to get a couple short-hopped bairs in afterwards

i would start another topic, but since it would be on-topic here,

PLUMBER'S PRIDE :psycho:
Also i think the up tilt to up b is worth mentioning. Espcially if they're behind you because the uptilt hits behind luigi really quickly, lifts them above you and they drop nicely into the up b.

Luigi has combos pretty much on every char.
I donīt recommend to combo into upB, since if you know itīs not going to Kill, it will just end the combo. why not continue utilts or if they fly high enough go for aerials?
maybe against space animals that utilt to upB could Kill? so far Iīve been doing good chopping them off at higher %īs
I tried Plumber's Pride the other day.
Beautiful. Even if they DI, if you WD and dodge right, it's still crazy hard for them to get out of it.

I fought a nice luigi at MLG in Philly. The thing he was great at was punishing EVERY single miss with an UP+B. I'm still wondering how he did it, but it was amazing. Dvul, it'd be nice for you to get like that so when we fight, I can actually train against someone who can do it.

your rival, who were you using against luigi? i know you can punish the **** out of link, young link and samus if they miss a grab. i don't understand how he could punish EVERY whiffed attack with up-b. i don't understand why he would punish whiffs with up-b anyways. it is NOT safe.

I was Marth, and honestly BEFORE going to MLG, my Marth was unbelievably bad despite what I thought at the time. I mean it only happened so many times before I got wise, and then it wasn't EVERY time, but yeah, I spammed stupid moves like dsmash and fsmash way too much and paid for it.
Your Rival, dont worrie i'm getting better at doing that so you will have a good training against that kind of thing you can also tell Ignatz to start doing that but i guess i could do that tonight some time, thanks for all your help ever one going to start putting all this great stuff to very very good use! ;)

What's with the people who say don't use upb? Why not? Does massive damage. No it's not safe, but it's fast and kills floaties at uber low %. I understand why you might want to combo more, but why not use it for the kill?

Because up+b is only usefull as a finisher if you can get in close for the perfect "Flaming punch up+b." Otherwise, it's rather pathetic. Seven times out of ten, the target will fall out of your (normal) up+b midmove and recover in plenty of time to _punish_ your foolishness. Even if you do get them with the whole thing, it's still not worth the lag you endure.
As for the flaming punch attempts, only go for it when you know you can make the connection, and you know they are at high enough percentages. Link and Samus's missed grabs or when you can anticipate someones roll are good examples. Sometimes, if you are fast enough, you can wavedash into it. I've also gotten a few people with it as an edge recovory. If you are really fast, you can even WD edge revovory into up+b. Just don't try it more than once because people tend to remember being humiliated.

I tend to never use the up-b only when im positive that I can connect with it. The up-b is just too risky, missing with it can cost you a stock and that wouldnt be good. If my oponent sucks, then what the heck, I use it to take them out quicker.

At pretty low percentages against some charecters it becomes as deadly as rest. It's mildly easier to pull off and doesn't have anywhere near the lag. Of course it's no where near as powerful, but a jiggy on corneria will die below 50% easy, so... Isn't it nearly as useful as rest there? People won't tell you not to use that move. Maybe that's just because jiggs can combo into it better and has more shortrange mobility.

Well, for one, it's nowhere near as powerful as jiggs rest. With rest, you can pretty much kill anything at 30%+. Plus, jiggs is way more manuverable in the air. Luigi seems to be quite stubborn when his feet arent planted.
